Ibis Styles Mysuru is a beautiful new property ruined by sub-par service. Our stay began with a great boost when we entered our sprawling, well done suite rooms only to get dampened by slow and poor service in the upcoming days. The breakfast service was appalling. Funny thing is, they were over staffed but nobody was doing anything. We had to ask 3 different people for basic cutlery only to go to the counter and pick it up by ourselves. And the kitchen orders we had placed with multiple people never showed up. We eventually left the breakfast without even eating the things we ordered as we were tired of waiting and had to leave outside for the day. Secondly, their showers and bathroom fittings were great but the heaters didn’t seem to work. Imagine coming from the gym, all sweaty, only to a shower that wasn’t giving out hot water. Yes. This happened to us on two separate days. When we informed them of this on day one, they sent someone from the technical team who assured us that the heaters were functional - only to see the hot water never come in the evenings. Looks like they turn off the heaters in the evening to save electricity, but on the outside they claim as if the hot water is available. Not sure about this. On the second day when the hot water still didn’t come, we rang the reception and asked them for us to meet with the duty manager the next morning. Only to have no one come see us the next day. They offered us a room change but we denied it as we were going to checkout on the same day so didn’t see a point. Overall, it’s a great property that requires a lot of attention to service and the minor details - which make all the difference in any hotel stay. I really hope they’re more serious about the service they provide and improve it down the line.
