HSM Lago Park

Very clean rooms, lovely bathrooms. Well equipped self catering facilities. Housekeeping very good. Comfortable beds. Great location, all in all a nice little base for a beach holiday. If you are sensitive to road noise, please be aware this is on a busy road. Didn't bother us though.

Just returned from a week at Lago park with my husband & children. (13) & (11). I’ll start with the positives. The hotel itself is very good value, it was very clean and modern and has all that you could need. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable though, be warned if you have a bad back as it will be broken after 1 night! We only stayed B&B but the breakfast was good, plenty of hot and cold choices. It was the same each day though. The pools are quite small but we all still enjoyed it and opted for the quieter pool. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. The location is just across a very busy road from Playa Muro beach which is gorgeous. The area has some lovely restaurants and the usual beach shops. It has 2 Spar mini markets just next door and across the road. The major negative of this hotel is not actually a fault of the hotels. The hotel has two blocks and two separate pools, most likely two separate hotels at one point. In between each block are some shops, a children’s play area and a bar which play extremely loud music until 12 every night. When we first arrived our room was facing the very noisy and busy road and right above the bar. No one slept a wink that night. When I complained the reception staff were very helpful and moved us into block 1 the next day, which is more set back from the road but it didn’t help with the noise from the bar. We had to stay up until after 12 to go to bed each night as even with the air con on the music was still booming. We spoke to so many people who were so upset about this bar and how they couldn’t sleep. Most nights it was empty as the resort is very family orientated , it just does not fit into the resort. Perhaps ask for a quiet room when booking but I doubt if any of the rooms are quiet with how loud the volume of the music is.

Fabulous and friendly staff. Clean and modern apartment with balcony. Well equipped with everything we needed for a one week stay. Great location close to the beach and supermarkets. Two pools available and plenty sun loungers for guests.

This is a reasonably small hotel which tries to do a lot and gets most of it right. It's also priced very competitively. 200-300m from the beach, you really can't complain at all... The premium apartments are large, have a small kitchenette and we were in 1-314 which was road side but generally quiet (some other reviews complained about the noise of other bars but I think from building 2. The pools are good and were enough for my 2 year old and 6 year old. Even though it was mid August, there was never a problem getting a sunbed. There is a small play park, which seemed to attract a lot of mosquitos (our kids were covered). You can take small floats and goggles into the pool, and the pool bar serves reasonably priced drinks all day. The animation team (Alicija and Itzo) are amazing and constantly touched base and chatted with us through the day, our girls loved the mini disco nightly with the games, and for a small family hotel some of the shows were pretty impressive (especially the external lazer show and Itzo's magic card night). They also loved getting their faces painted. We went half board and the food was ok. We felt there could have been more selection (one grilled meat, one fish, one saucy dish), but they did always have pizza and pasta for the kids and 3-4 ice creams. It wasn't bad enough that we chose to eat elsewhere, but we're used to more and better quality to be honest (we put this down to you get what you pay for). I did enjoy the chorizo and eggs for breakfast but the coffee was really bad - thankfully there is a nice ice cream shop 200 m away which had good coffee and opened at 10AM (will try to review there too). We had a hire car (rental) and the hotel has 3 spaces and when these were full, you could easily park on the street. Given the price paid (one of the cheapest we could find close to the beach with all this stuff), would definitely stay again - it's a good value family break - thanks to everyone at HSM Lago Park for being a great team...

I liked this hotel. We had room 1307, so on the top floor right at the end of the corridor (so nobody walked passed our room) we had a bit of sea view, yes it was over looking the main road but we liked that as could people watch etc. I emailed before we arrived for higher floor & they honoured my request so we were happy. The hotel reception staff are all very nice & helpful. The apartment was a good size & sofa bed was king size. The beds were comfy as were the pillows. Air conditioning worked ok too, not quite as cool as I'd like it but good enough. The kitchen was more than adequate for what we needed & the bathroom was really nice. The shower was better than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in! The fact you do not need to put a towel down is awesome, I hate getting up early on holiday although you do need to get to the beach around 10.30-11.00 to get beds there! The beach is soooo nice, one of the best I've ever been too! The local restaurants are all good with really nice food.

We enjoyed our stay with two 7years old boys. Parts of the hotel (building 2) are a bit dated, but all over we had a great stay. Food and drinks good, both pool areas well maintained and the entertainment for kids and adults was great. Kids loved Itzo and Alicia the animators. They put a lot of effort into their work and they are doing a great job.
