I stayed in JAMS Hotel Munich for four nights, and I had mixed feelings. Whilst the hotel has cool vibes, the temperature of the rooms were anything but. My room was boiling hot, and lacked any air conditioning (which is one of the advertised features on Booking, where I booked this hotel). I called reception and asked if the hotel actually had air conditioning. I was informed that there was air con and it was on full-blast, but because of the exceptional heat there wasn't enough power. Personally, I don't think I've ever seen air conditioning that didn't work in the heat. This was during a heat warning; where Munich was experiencing temperatures of 35 degrees, so I didn't question it much further. However as the days got colder, I never felt that the room benefitted from air con. Either the air con doesn't exist, or it's some kind of fan/cooling system. One thing that did help with the heat however, was the free minibar which included daily water, sodas, and beer. All of the drinks were really high quality and definitely added to the experience. My stay also included continental breakfast, which operated from 7 until 11am. I thought it was really high quality. I also tried a cocktail at the bar during my stay, which I thought was very nice. Circling back to the decor, I thought the hotel was very modern and contemporary. The rooms look very stylish and new, and the musical theme runs throughout the hotel. I stayed in a comfort single room on the second floor, and it was a very large room. The double bed was also massive. There is no wall separating the shower and sink area, although there is a curtain and a separate room for the toilet. I personally didn't have any issues with the noise, from either downstairs or the rooms around me. One of my favourite things about the hotel is the vinyl record player in every room. You can pick up a vinyl from the reception and bring it to your room to listen at your own leisure. I really enjoyed this, and I think it really completes the musical theme. There's also a bluetooth speaker, if you wanted to listen to something on your phone. Although I will say that the free wifi was very hit-and-miss for me. It was slow, and sometimes wouldn't work. The service was brilliant, and very friendly. The staff were very welcoming to English-speaking tourists, and they were very accommodating overall. The rooms were kept very clean, and there were lots of additional services offered by the hotel such as bike rental and an airport shuttle service. Lastly, JAMS is quite near to the city centre. Expect a 10-20 minute walk away from the big landmarks. Although there are a few local landmarks and sights to see too. There are a few nice restaurants nearby too, and there is a metro that can get you in the city in two stops. Not to mention that the metro has services which go directly to the airport. If you're staying here in the summer; be prepared to face the full heat of Munich. I cannot recommend it for that reaso
