We will not go back, we had two single beds which keep going apart, not sure why we had two single beds put together, food was average, service was average, entertainment was good sadly they don’t provide a gluten free menu only bread roll when you asked for it. The beach is lovely and great bars and restaurants around plus designer shopping for the ones who love a label.

The room was lovely. Great view and cleaned every day yet could have had better quality tea/coffee/milk selection. The pool area is quite small and gets busy so I’d recommend using the terraces. However, the “terrace bar” opens for about 2 minutes every other Thursday! )i.e it was never open) so take your own refreshments. Plenty of free water around the hotel so that was good. WiFi was shocking in the room. Works best outside and in reception so they could improve on that. We were half-board and had access to breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was exactly the same every day. Not a great deal of variety but manageable. Personally machine coffee is not my favourite and this one was incredibly bitter (cheap). The “waiting” staff were slow to clear the tables so we did it ourselves most of the time. Evening meals were again very limited on their variety. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning on the 3rd day. Not sure if it was the pork, pasta or chicken but I was laid up for 2 days and was vomiting badly. After this we both started paying attention to the food and the hygiene in the restaurant and we found that lots of their food was recycled, which isn’t a bad thing. However, leaving meat and pasta out under warm lights then refrigerating then serving up again is abhorrent. We witnessed cross contamination with raw chicken being picked up with the cooked chicken tongs then plated up. It became clear also that bacteria grows in abundance on pasta and rice (Bacillus cereus) I was throwing up after the chicken and eating the pasta. Some evening vegetables that had been out for hours would then be served at breakfast. I dread to think where it had been stored overnight! We also witnessed a kitchen staff member wandering around behind the food counter adjusting his trousers frequently and putting his hands down his backside, to then pick up food, which had dropped out of the bowls, with gloveless hands. A majority of the plates were always wet or dirty. The glasses (when they had them!) were stored upside down on plastic trays which was never cleaned so be wary of that. The spa, again, was lacking that plush feeling. Paint peeling off ceiling, dirty towels left for 24 hours. Broken showers, cloudy water and dirty filters in the plunge pool. We had the company of a cockroach in the spa which the young girl quickly got rid of. Admittedly she then did give us a free hour the next day. Overall we just felt the public areas were lacking in cleanliness which made us cautious and apprehensive. We ate out on the last night as we couldn’t bear the thought of sitting on that canteen any longer! We just felt the hygiene for a 4 star hotel was appalling. It’s a 3 star minus at a push so don’t expect lush. Finally, be aware of Sara on reception. As she’s incredibly unhelpful and rude. I say this because you have to leave a cash deposit of €10 per beach towel. When you come to hand them back you MUST have the receipt which was given to you when you checked them o

I felt the need to write this review on our second day here. I was really worried that the quality of food would be poor having read some of the previous reviews, but having enjoyed 2 days of meals here, I'm really wondering what the other reviewers found issue with? We have found the food spotlessly clean, plentiful and a great choice, even when shot staffed over Easter. Unless you want burger, pizza and chips all day long, then you will not be disappointed.. Staff all seem very friendly and courteous and I like the layout of the hotel. Sadly our room is limited in so far as that our balcony/terrace just looks onto the main walkway, but there's a nice searing area in the sun, adjacent to it. Hotel is really well placed for beach and surrounding bars, shops and restaurants.

I like my stay in Fergus Cactus Garden hotel very much. Especially I am very satisfied by fantastic people who work here and care about us - women cleaning up our room, restaurant Staff. The most I liked Mirella who is a waitress in the restaurant and Leni who organized our time. They are very kind, helpful and always smiling. I truly recommend this hotel.😀

I'm very satisfied, I've had a wonderful time in Fergus Cactus Hotel. The atmosphere here is very good. All the staff are very nice and helpfull and keep smiling all the time, especially: Leni and Mirella and Adrian 😁. The food is fresh and tasty. Rooms are big and beds convenient. Perfect place for relax and spending nice time with friends and family.

Don’t pay attention to the comments saying the hotel is run-down — a bit of peeling paint on a wall doesn’t compare to the friendly atmosphere, the caring staff, and the excellent food. If someone is bothered by a slight touch of age in this hotel, they must be petty. After all, we come to a hotel to have a good time, not to meticulously inspect the quality of the construction work. One of the best hotels I’ve ever visited — I recommend it to everyone. The food is delicious, with themed dinners every evening, and it’s not just a name — you can truly feel the Mexican, Asian, or Italian vibe on your plate. If there had been a Polish cuisine day, we’d probably have had bigos like grandma’s and pierogi that tasted homemade. The lunches were amazing — seafood paella, dishes full of local flavors and aromas. Breakfasts were great too, and you can enjoy them outside while soaking in the view of the surrounding mountains. Once again, fantastic location, close to the promenade and a beautiful beach. The hotel is a great starting point to explore the entire island. And the crème de la crème of the hotel — the phenomenal entertainer, Lenny. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated to their work and with such a great approach to kids. If more people were like him in their fields, the world would be a better place. The fact that this is the first time in my life I’ve ever written a review for a hotel says it all. More places like this, please!

Had hoped reviews of food were wrong. They were not. Food was just awful. Same every lunch and dinner, low quality meat I was nearly sick on. If you stay, be prepared to pay extra to eat out - we had to, which as a family of 5 was not cheap. Supermarket was handy too. Hotel fine otherwise, but food really put us off. Kids got bored as not much to do.

I rate my stay at this hotel very positively. Nice staff very nice, food very good, fantastic animations. Leni is great and Klara is at the reception. Our best town on the island of Morro JABLEEverywhere close and beautiful beach. Stay very successful

Good location for the hotel closed to the beach the food is average they can work on dessert menu . The water in the pool is cold so almost nobody will go in the pool. The jacuzzi on level 6 warm in the first 2 days after this cold. For me it feels like they want the guests to not stay at the hotel during the day and go in different places e.g beach, excursion etc

I had a fantastic holiday staying at the cactus garden. The activities leader Joe was brilliant he provided some great activities and made my holiday so much fun. He involved everyone in the activities and delivered them so enthusiastically. I thought the food was excellent and I had a lovely room with very nice facilities. I enjoyed my holiday so much that I will definitely be booking another holiday at the cactus garden

Fantastic hotel fantastic staff fantastic entertainment. The food and drinks are beautiful. Joel who looks after the guests entertainment throughout the day and night is a pleasure to be around. The cocktail making session was brilliant so much fun

Hotel is in a good spot for beach walks. And animation guy was bursting with good energy. Food is okay if you're not very picky. Coffee is FOUL. Service staff is very nice, rooms are cleaned daily but ours had ceiling paint coming down like snow.

Returned again to cactus garden , staff all very hard working and eager to please . My wife has allergies to lactose gluten & fish , after a couple of days there , Gustavo & all the catering and restaurant tried there very best for her THX. The entertainer Lenny From Venezuala did a brilliant job with the facilities he has to work with ,catering for all ages & nationalities THX. Jose , Marco , "Rasputin" & Manella , did a brilliant job at the pool bar THX. The hotel Director is spot on and has is eyes on all , pleased us as we had no line to dry any clothes we washed , and when we came back from the beautiful beach , there was one waiting , many thanks for your personal touch. Most of all we were amazed at the foor 9 rear secluded sun bathing area , with jacuzzi , shower and its own toilet aand sunbeds , compliments to all the staff that keep this area spolessly clean amazing views over the ocean , may use this area in place of the beach all the time as it was so nice . Thanks to all for a wonderful holiday , see you all very soon.
