Hilton Garden Inn Morgantown

Very clean, quiet, comfortable hotel. Had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, was easy to sleep. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. Plenty of desk space next to the TV so I could work. They offered a discount for us since we were there for WVU. We stayed in a double Queen room and the beds were plenty big enough for two people. The TV doesn’t have Netflix or any apps so bring a laptop with an HDMI cable or another streaming device if you want to watch something other than live tv, otherwise it is great quality, my only complaint is there wasn’t an option to lower the refresh rate so everything you watch has the “soap opera” effect. The Ethernet port didn’t work for the internet, but I’m not even sure if it was meant to be used for the internet so I can’t even complain about that. They were very accommodating and gave us a 1PM late checkout to give us plenty of time to finish work and get everything packed. They have a fitness area and a pool that we didn’t use but they looked very well maintained. They were doing renovations when we stayed so the parking lot was a little challenging but nothing that hindered our trip. Overall great hotel, any complaints we had were negligible and not even anything to really complain about out. Would definitely stay again!

The staff is wonderful . . . . helpful, welcoming and cheerful! The dining and breakfast options are yummy. Fitness room and pool are well maintained. The hotel is in a great location close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel has recently been renovated and is very comfortable.

New rooms are very modern I love this hotel and stay often the atmosphere is positive and it's close to everything but more importantly the front desk has never been anything but kind and helpful. Never one issue here and that's appreciated bc I've come across some really rude front end employees in my travels. Awesome management. This is the way its supposed to be done.

The long-awaited renovation is happening, and the new rooms are a huge upgrade - they feel so much more spacious, the lighting (and the blinds) are terrific, the coffee station and closet are so much more efficient and attractive, the desk area is much more useful, and best of all - there’s a wonderful shower! CJ, who manages the front desk, has an exceptional customer service ethic, and has clearly taught his team well! Thanks to CJ, Gene, Raquell, Bear, Rachel, Rilie, Wyatt, Nate and Jordan for making my stay great!

I booked a king bed with a whirlpool tub and separate shower. I was given a king bed with no whirlpool tub. They did not tell me ahead of time or ask my permission. They texted me to ask how my stay was going, but they didn’t even mention The room switch. I’m so tired of having my room switched without my permission by Hilton all over the United States. I’m a diamond member, I’ve been a diamond member for over three years. I booked through my Hilton Honors app. I checked in with my digital key and that’s when I found out the room wasn’t what I booked. Thanks for the notice. I went to the front desk to ask what happened. The lady was very nice and she apologized. She said she gave me extra discounts which I will definitely look for when I get my bill tomorrow. I checked my email to see if there was any recognition already that my room was switched but there is none. She said they overbooked. How does a hotel overbook? I am a diamond member, so I feel like I should be given that kind of treatment. Even if they had called ahead of time to apologize that would’ve helped a little bit. If it weren’t freezing cold, I would seriously consider leaving and not staying here again. It isn’t so much that the room is different because that part isn’t as big of a deal. The part that is frustrating is that they didn’t tell me an advance and that they assumed that would be OK. Overbooking is their problem it’s not that of the customers.

Rooms were very clean. Friendly staff. Free adequate parking. We did not have to use our car until we left to return home. Easy walk to the West Virginia stadium. Excellent restaurants across the street. And a Kroger’s store for any last minute snacks.

Some good things first: the front desk staff was nice; we got the room we booked; the lobby was spacious and new-looking; the bed linens and towels were soft; the bed was comfy; the hotel is in a nice area of shops and restaurants; and parking is free. However, the bad outweighed the good here. The carpet throughout the 6th floor where we stayed was stained and ripped and the furniture and walls definitely need an update. Worst of all was the bathroom. The shower door did not close and the shower head was not adjustable; thus, water leaked out all over the bathroom floor, creating a slippery and dangerous condition. Also, there was mold on the shower walls and ceiling; what I initially assumed to be a strong bleach smell was actually the odor of mold. Not surprised given the shower door leak. Finally, some problems with breakfast. The hot breakfast does not start til 7 am--a problem when you have to get going earlier (as multiple people were doing that morning). Also, they charge about $10 for the breakfast, which is usually free in hotels of this price range. All in all, a disappointing stay for a Hilton hotel.

Jean and Ana are amazing! I came back to this hotel after visiting for the first time a week ago just for them. It was my first time in this state and they were so nice as well as friendly. It’s good to have a good front desk crew. They made sure I was enjoy my stay!

We have stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn three times in the last month. The hotel is very nice. The location is perfect. Definitely Mountaineer country!!! They have updated the lobby and I’m informed the rooms are next. The staff are always friendly, including the night clerks, who have always welcomed us in really late at night. Erica and Kim are also a pleasure to speak with at breakfast and are both very courteous and helpful with guests’ needs. We look forward to staying here again in the near future. Thank you!
