Cabañas Valle Campanas - Monteverde, Costa Rica

The beds were very comfortable and the overall cabin was a great size for 5 people. Roy and the other staff were very helpful and ensured that we were looked after. The site has a beautiful view of the sunset and it gave our trip a little extra enjoyment. Roy offered fantastic restaurant recommendations and he has always available to answer our questions and help us out. Highly recommend!! Gary and family

We rented cabins 1, 2 and 3 for a family vacation. All three cabins were in pristine condition and looked almost brand new. The grounds are lovingly maintained and so beautiful to explore. Breakfast was a delight on our patios with plenty of bird watching and one can’t beat coffee in the hammock. Roy took care of all our sight seeing and was a wonderful conversationalist. Our party of seven did not have a car, but we didn’t need one. Roy arranged transportation for our outings and called taxis for dinner. And, the taxis in Santa Elena were very inexpensive. Highly recommend! This place is a gem!

We stayed here for two nights while exploring Monte Verde. The location was fantastic - we could walk into town for dinner (beware the way there very much uphill - great for us but may be difficult for some), but back at the hotel it was quiet and the grounds were beautiful. It felt like a real escape. Our kids loved the dogs and the hammock, and raved about the gallo pinto. Because the property is big, the cabins are pretty spread out, so we didn’t worry about our kids being kids and making some noise. The folks who run the place are lovely and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we head back to Monteverde!

My husband turned 62 and look what these lovely people made on our bed! The welcome was also very compleet and friendly. We can highly recommend this place. The room is clean and the breakfast wil be brought to your room. 👍🏻

We had a wonderful stay. Our cabana was perfect for our family of four - the staff were very friendly and the grounds and views were great. We also saw a lot of wildlife from our place: hummingbirds, mot-mots, agouti, geckos and beautiful butterflies. Our children really enjoyed hanging out in the hammock on the upper deck, and we were able to enjoy a few family meals using the stovetop/kitchen area. The view from the sunset deck was very nice

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel de Cabañas Valle Campanas. The owners/staff, breakfast, and the grounds made this stay. The cabins are basic but they are a good size, comfortable, clean, and the deck on the 2nd floor of the standard cabin is perfect for bird watching. The ecosystems in this area change dramatically as you move between lower elevations and the cloud forest. This hotel offered us a chance to see a number of bird species that we never encountered in our visits to the various reserves including Northern-Emerald Toucanet, Long-Tailed Manakin and Masked Tityra. We also had regular visits from groups of Lesson’s Motmots and White-Throated Magpie-Jays. Take advantage of the homemade breakfast offered ($9 US/person) as it’s delicious and portions are a good size (you have a choice of 3 options and all are vegetarian). The grounds are beautiful and you can take a short walk to the sunset tower and around their plantation. The cabañas are about a 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurant and about 15 minutes to the center of town. We didn’t have a rental car but found this short walk not to be a deterrent as it wasn’t strenuous. Note that taxis are expensive. There is a meal delivery service that we took advantage of our first night so we didn’t have to walk to town after a long travel day. All of the tours we did also provided transportation.
