We were only here for two nights but this is a lovely hotel. Beautiful rooms with everything you could need, excellent showers with good water pressure, very comfortable bed and linens, twice daily housekeeping, friendly staff, and of course, fabulous animals and birds on the lushly landscaped property. The only fault, which can’t be changed, is the loud roadway somewhat nearby. It is close to Monteverde hiking and to restaurants in town, but the restaurant here is delicious too.

The hotel, staff, service, food and ambience was superb. Wine and nibbles provided in the room, opened the door on the first night to a staff member with a small water bottle and some chocolates, not requested but gratefully received. Staff recommended a visit to the wildlife sanctuary close by, the guide Diego was great, well worth doing, we also did the cloud forest which whilst weather was very wet was really interesting. Whole trip was fabulous.

Costa Rica is a beautiful country and this might be the most beautiful and peaceful hotel in Costa Rica. It truly feels like paradise. The room is gorgeous, the grounds are spectacular, and the restaurant has the most amazing views and delicious breakfast. Spa quality bathroom and close to everything in Monteverde. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in Monteverde! Monkeys outside the door. Birds everywhere. Was a great introduction to Costa Rica for us! They also have a reserve walking distance from the hotel. Which was beautiful and so easy to access. Town is also a 5 minute drive away. Great service and great restaurant on site. Highly recommend!

We spent two nights here. When we arrived there were already monkeys next to our cottage. Later on we saw a lot of animals and beautiful birds just around our cottage. They are very sustainable, so I admire that. The cottages are great. They are spacious and you have everything you need. Many activities close by. Very nice staff. And a great restaurant close by (part of the hotel). Either delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!!

We went on our honeymoon and throughout our time in Costa Rica, we stayed at multiple very nice resorts. Nothing beats the service at Senda. By the time we left we felt like we were friends with the staff. Big shout outs to Edwin, Roberth, Dorian and Alex. The food and cocktails were far and away the best we had on our trip and some of the best we’ve ever had. The rooms were nice and clean, it is a very wet climate so the room does sometimes feel damp but it’s the best you can do in Monte verde. Would definitely recommend!

The Senda Staff are really special… thoughtful, professional and genuinely nice. Your needs are anticipated before you even realize you need something. Best service ever. The accommodations and grounds are terrific and there are animals everywhere.

We spent three nights at Senda in a Premium suite and were glad we did. The room was a nice size for us. The food was very good. We enjoyed taking a long hike in the Aguti Wildlife Reserve. During our stay we had a private hike at the Curi-Cancha Reserve and also one at the Monteverde Reserve. We also did a Two hour night walk.

Nicest and most relaxing small hotel in the beautiful mountains of Costa Rica. This small hotel is the perfect gem - hidden in the mountains but yet, accessible to everywhere in Monteverde. My husband and I stayed for 3 days and they were the most quiet and enjoyable 3 days we have had in a while. There is no TV, no AC, no Radio - just perfect soothing sounds of nature. We sat outside on the porch at night to enjoy the sounds of the birds and the trees. It rained only one night while we were there and it was even more enjoyable. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are very spacious and clean. They stock your minibar with beer, soft drinks, a bottle of wine, coffee, tea, and snacks - super yummy snacks - free of charge - as a courtesy when you check in - that is nice! The breakfast offered is super delicious - the menu is well put together so that everyone can find a suitable choice of food. We enjoyed one lunch and dinner and they were equally delicious. I was impressed at how nice and accommodating everyone is at the restaurants and at the hotel as a whole. We will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel!

This is a wonderful place in the Monte Verde cloud forest. The people that work here are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is excellent. The accommodations are very nice and in the forest. There are many paths that are available to walk. There are many birds and animals on property. I learned a lot and had fun on the coffee tour! I highly recommend this place !

This was my favorite place in Costa Rica. Quiet, beautiful and very peaceful. There are a number of hiking trails and they provide boots, walking sticks and binoculars. The rooms are little cottages Set into the jungle landscape. We saw plenty of wildlife while sitting on our front porch. The mornings were crisp and beautiful and the afternoons were rainy. I was delighted to come back from dinner to find the beds turned down with hot water bottles and chocolates! I have never experienced finer hospitality. Everyone was very kind and helpful. I plan to go back during a sunnier season for a longer stay. Pura Vida!!

Fantastic place. The setting is unreal in wonderful gardens near the cloud forest. We were so lucky with our lodge (24) on the edge of the property with a breathtaking view over the valley and wildlife regularly visible through the huge windows and on the balcony. All staff are lovely. Restaurant varies from excellent to ok but breakfast is really good. Very nice vibe to the place obviously very well run and feels refreshingly independent and not like a chain at all. Strong recommend!

We stayed several nights at Senda in May. The hotel is beautiful (the rooms and the grounds) and the staff is superb. There is nightly turn down service as well as daily maid service. We cannot say enough about the restaurant staff. We ate breakfast and dinner there. The food was delicious but the staff made it even better. We cannot wait to come back!

Our family of three enjoyed the most perfect 3-night stay at Hotel Senda. We were in the Premium Suite; our 7-year-old daughter slept on the couch, which was comfortable and made up for her upon our arrival. The service at this Hotel mirrors that which you would see at a luxury resort, the team members were really friendly, professional and helpful. They were really good about name recognition and also made us feel very special throughout our stay. We were celebrating our daughter's 7th birthday and I worked with the concierge to pre-order a cake for her. The cake was in the room waiting for us upon arrival and she loved the surprise. Subsequently, throughout our stay the team members that we interacted with knew her by name and wished her a happy birthday. The attention to detail was very much appreciated. We loved having the complimentary snacks and beverages in the room and also really appreciated nightly turn down with the hot water bottle. Also crucial was the complimentary laundry service as we were on a 2-week trip, and it was so helpful to get some things washed. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable and had lush surroundings which made sitting on the balcony extremely enjoyable. The complimentary a la carte breakfast was perfect for us, we enjoyed everything that we ate and thought that the menu had a good variety. We hiked around the resort as well as the Aguti Reserve and thought that was a nice added perk. Walking into Santa Elena took about 10 minutes. We would love to come back and stay at Senda again; it was really enjoyable on every level.
