From being welcomed by Theresa who came out to meet us when we drove up, though saying goodbye to Scott as we headed out six days later, this was the ultimate in a luxury vacation in a part of the world that is already like paradise. The theme of BSV is wine, but in a way the excellence of this region's wine is a metaphor for the excellence of the Borgo itself. In two short years, Shannon and Scott, with expert assistance from Carlo, have addressed every detail. The owners and senior staff are constantly visible, and all seemed to instantly know our names. The rooms in these 100-200 year old buildings are modern yet still quaint, with ultra modern bathrooms. The food is fabulous, and the wine list of course both robust and still reasonably priced. The recruitment and training of the entire staff is outstanding, with many young locals who adopt the same spirit of excellence as the entire establishment. I don't think I saw one person with anything but a smiling offer to answer any request. They have arranged both on site and off site experiences, assist with dinner reservations and transportation, and even tactfully tell you if they think you may not have made the best choice of restaurants. We did the Master Class wine tasting: wow! In short, this is a luxury spot for couples, friends, any special occasion, or just because you are lucky enough to be in this region for a few days. Take advantage of every bit of it; it's special.
