Beautiful older hotel that has been nicely upgraded. Good, quiet location about a 10 minute walk from the town. Room very comfortable except for the lack of air conditioning due to "seasonal adjustment." Front desk not accommodating at all with this. "Just open the window" they said, which wasn't enough, it was still too hot. I have never stayed at a hotel, particularly a spa hotel that didn't provide body lotion. A first. My questions regarding using the jacuzzi without booking a spa appointment ping ponged between the front desk and the spa. It was a wonderful, large jacuzzi which I finally found on my own. Maybe they don't want paying hotel guests using it? Odd. Could be a great hotel with a bit of staff training and a slight loosening of the purse strings. Cough up the lotion!!

We have stayed in the Montecatini Palace many times - this stay rates among the best. The staff are just excellent - superb service from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Very reasonably priced. The addition of the rooftop restaurant this year was a nice surprise. We are there one night, the fillet of beef just amazing - the pasta even better! My husband and I spent 2 days at this hotel although we paid for three. We ended up leaving a day early to stay at a nearby hotel with a pool and free breakfast and a view. So the positives of this hotel: - the AC - we were there in July so it was HOT - there is a gym. It’s small and for some reason, the AC was not on the 3 days we used it so it was like a sauna, but there is a gym. - relative close proximity to restaurants and beach. Very walkable. Negatives: - COST. Of everything. We ordered 2 coffees to be delivered to the room. It cost 20 euro. - Breakfast was not included in the cost of the room. - no one explained anything to us when we checked in. No how to get on the wifi, no how to call the front desk, no nothing. The check in was very abrupt. - the room was in the lower level of an adjacent apartment building. And it backed up to the train tracks. Fortunately, the trains are not very loud but still, you can certainly hear them - the pillows and the beds - FLAT. Hard. But in all fairness, I can’t say we had soft mattresses or pillows in any hotel we stayed at this trip. - no view Overall, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. It was comfortable and met the basics, but way too pricy for what it was.

It was the wonderful stay in Montecatini Palace Jan 2024. Staff created absolutely home feelings atmoshere. Thanks to everybody: Mark, Andrew, both ladies at the reception (loved you), Nadisha. Hope to visit you again. Jamilya and Ziba from Azerbaijan.

I quite like the charm of this hotel. The rooms / bathrooms were very spacious and felt very traditional (which I appreciate immensely), without feeling dated or run-down. The limited interaction with front desk staff was pleasant enough over the 2 night stay. And it is located a few steps away from the beautiful tram ride taking you to some wonderful views over the region. Arriving at the top is a quaint area (that I would have enjoyed having more time to explore). Little shops, cafes and restaurants in a lively yet civilized environment and backdrop to Tuscany! As usual, wish there was more time there.
