Montauk Blue Hotel

Two-night stay with my husband for his bday. The balcony of our room had an impressive view of the ocean once we were moved to a different room. And the beach staff members were very friendly. Janet and the racial minority front desk agents were nice and welcoming. The location is pretty convenient. The blond, heavy set lady from the front desk was condescending and can’t be bothered to help. Upon checkout, she acted like I was invisible, though she was friendly and attentive to white folks. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we’ve ever had — and we travel all over the world, spending more than 100 nights annually at hotels. No amenities, like a restaurant, bar, or any kind of food service. No elevator that can take you to the 2nd floor, which may be an issue for those with disabilities. The water pressure in the shower is very weak. The room itself was very small and outdated, with a carpet that needed to be changed a few years ago. The carpet in the balcony is quite disgusting and housekeeping didn’t vacuum it during our stay. The indoor pool is far away from the ocean. No gym of any kind. The WiFi didn’t work at all during our stay, which was supposed to be included with the $35/day resort fee.

My wife and I were very impressed with the hotel, staff, pool and the view. The only reason for my 4-star rating was that the bed was not as comfortable as it should be. The hotel is right on the beach. We had a room on the ground floor, so we could walk right on the beach. There has been a significant about of dune work- so access to the beach was a few steps away. Montauk is very quiet off-season- and we enjoyed coming back for a visit.

Nice hotel but dated. Our room was on the ground floor near the pool and beach entrance. (and by the staircase) The rooms in itself were nice and clean. A/C worked but noisy but we left the screen door open great breeze. Great view of the beach, nice little patio to sit and relax. Our room had a bathtub our sons room next door didn’t. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and nicer. I would not stay in that same room location would stay further away towards the office. Extremely noisy by the stairs as the buildings are old. They give you towels, chairs and umbrella and set it up. The pool is great and especially the jacuzzi.We would only go after Labor Day too expensive.

We had a fantastic time at the Montauk Blue Hotel. Our ocean front room was clean and comfortable, great deck, and the beach was beautiful. Loved the friendly service with beach chairs and umbrella. We are definitely looking forward to coming back!

This is the absolute best choice of lodging in all of Montauk. The location is right on the ocean and the staff is amazing. They provide beaches, umbrellas, and towels. The Jacuzzi and pool are awesome. And the place is kept clean, above and beyond expectations, on a daily basis.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars! Keep in mind this is a renovated old motel in Montauk. I think a 3 star overall property based on google. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️location . Right ON the Atlantic Ocean. Most rooms overlooking the beach. Make sure you book ‘oceanfront’ if you want a direct view . Right in town. Very walkable to all restaurants and shops. Keep in mind if you have health and or mobility issues and choose lower level rooms . The stairs in the heat can be a beast. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️chairs,umbrellas , towels provided and set up for you included in the ‘resort fee’. ⭐️⭐️⭐️indoor pool. Sort of covered in clear glass/ plexiglass. Attendant, towels, restrooms, picnic and lounge chairs inside and out. It’s an average but clean pool. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️rooms. Very clean, modern decor, bathroom well laid out and great function. Plenty of counter space. Beds comfortable, private balcony, dining table for two in room, pull out couch, tv, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker with coffee. ☀️no restaurant on premises but many local eateries within walking distance. Parking is free and you’re given one pass for one car.
