Had a fantastic weeks stay in Guest House Fontana. We stayed in apartment number 4. Our host was very friendly and welcoming. The apartment was clean and very spacious. As you entered the apartment, there was a small table and chairs by the front door. You enter into the kitchen/dinning/lounge space. This also has a separate Juliet balcony with another table and chairs off it. The kitchen was more than adequately equipped with a full size under counter separate fridge and freezer, double hob, kettle, microwave and a whole host of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. The dining area consisted of a table and chairs and a corner sofa with TV I the corner. Off this room is the bathroom with shower, basin, toilet and plenty of storage. There is a large bed in a separate bedroom and yet another large balcony overlooking the ocean and perfect place in the evening. There is a retractable awning over the balcony should you prefer to sit in the sun - the tool for this was beside the wardrobe in the bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning in the lounge area and the fan in the bedroom was more than adequate to chill the inside area down quickly. There is a little beach down the stair case through the garden. Be careful it is particularly steep, but a lovely 5 minute walk. The beach js very rocky - the best way to get in and out of the sea is to climb down the rocked area to the left hand side of the mooring area of a little boat. You will see a channel between the rocks here that the boat takes - you can swim through this and you are out of the way of the rocks. Be careful as there are a number of sea urchins in this area and despite not using sea shoes myself - some may find this an essential. We sought shade underneath the tree to the left hand side along the beach front as you reach the mooring area. There are also a couple of parasol holders here should you have your own. There is an amazing array of sea-life here to view through a mask and snorkel. We swam from here with mask and snorkel all the way across to the beach on the left you can see next to hotel orphee. We also swam a similar distance the other direction. The prevailing flow of the ocean was from right to left and therefore if swimming left first, you had a tougher swim on the way back. So bare that in mind. The thunder clouds built up over the mountains every day and you could hear the thunder rumbling, which panicked us one day as we were along was out to sea. However, the storm never came close enough to worry about and stayed over the high level ground. We had a hire car, which we found essential for our needs. Lidl is a short 2.5 mile journey for buying food etc. The airport is approximately 15 minutes away. And likewise Dubrovnik. The nearest fuel station is towards Dubrovnik so bare that in mind when returning your hire car. There are buses that seem to regularly pass on the top of the main road in either direction. Uber also is available here should
