Super 8 by Wyndham Mitchell

This is a Super 8. It looked newly renovated, the bed and pillows where very comfortable. The room and lobby was clean. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was fine.

Room and whole place seemed run down and an overall lack of maintenance. Staff was nice and breakfast area was clean, but beds were old, room seemed muggy and floors were always damp.

The Super 8 in Mitchell was in a good location to what I wanted to see in the area and was also a very good value.

I'm OK with the overall experience, you get what you pay for. The room and dining room were clean which is a good start, however the rest of the hotel is in a really poor condition. It was good for the price, in the end we only needed to rest to continue our moving travel to the west coast, and we even had a breakfast in the morning for a party of 3, which is also a very good thing to consider. I'll certainly book again when in need / low budget conditions, but hopefully the hotel won't be in that abandoned state, we had to turn off the A/C because it was very noisy; thanks to God we didn't need it. The hotel is also pet friendly.

This was a disappointment. The hotel was not clean, the security door was broken and would not latch. The staff seemed to be working hard and were kind but this place is beyond repair.

Check in went great, zero problems but I had an online reservation. Room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator, which is a minor problem, the side stairs are really narrow. Room was nice and clean, ac was on 70, can’t go any lower because the thing will freeze up per the note when checking in. Everything was clean, finally got a shower tub that didn’t squeak, and plenty of hot water with very good pressure. Breakfast was good, had biscuits and gravy, waffles, toast, milk, coffee and juice, 4 types of cereal. Eating area was kinda small. But there was room, needed an extra garbage can in the area. My only complaint was the bathroom exhaust fan was bad and extremely loud

To start this review, I’m just going to say that all promotional pictures are a lie. They make it look clean and cozy when it is far from it. Immediately on the outside it appears rundown. Ok, I’ve seen worse and it doesn’t mean things can’t be ok inside, right? So wrong. The person checking us in was friendly enough and we were excited to have a room very near the pool. I was not excited to see a sign that said not to turn the air conditioning down below 70 degrees because the humidity could cause the unit to freeze up. This was disappointing because it was 90+ degrees in SD at the time and we were all hot and sweaty. Walked into the room and it felt cool but very humid and it smelled super musty. The beds appeared clean so that was a positive. My family members checked into the two rooms next door and it was confusing because all the rooms had inconsistencies even though they were all supposed to be the same room type and we all paid the same. For example, my parents had a microwave and small fridge while my brother’s family didn’t have them and neither did we. We had a decent size TV while my brother’s room had a very small 19 inch. None of our bathroom doors closed because water damage had warped them all. My sister in law booked the rooms and I wish I’d seen the previous reviews and that more pictures had been taken and share so I’m sharing some myself. The pool room was disgusting with mold and spiders/webs, and it smelled swampy, as if it wasn’t being taken care of at all. The gym they boast had one bike machine and one treadmill but neither were clean, the floor was dusty and covered in paint drops, and had boxes stacked inside like they were using it for storage. My husband attempted the breakfast in the morning but the eggs were slimy and cold so we just said no for fear of getting sick. Lastly, we had ants all over our room when we woke up in the morning, including in our beds. Not bedbugs, ants. We were so grossed out that we packed our items and got out of there. I dropped the key cards at the desk and left. Called them from the road to tell them about the ants and all they said was “oh, I’m sorry. Have a nice day.” Reading the current reviews makes me mad because some of the reviews have been in the last few weeks and mention the problems with the pool but they obviously did NOTHING to fix said problems because they are still there. I hope Wyndham looks into the current management there because the current state of the place is not worth the money they are charging at all.

The rooms we're not very clean. The rest of the hotel looked very dirty and run down. By 7am there was no breakfast and we couldn't find anyone to ask about it. They had a phone number on the front desk, but no one answered it.

Poorly maintained. Poor security--Outer door locks not working. Not the cleanest. Crap breakfast. Shower didn't work properly and toilet made very loud sounds.on the plus side, it was quiet. Convenient to I90. Glad I only paid $53.
