I had a terrible experience with Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport that I feel compelled to share. Despite booking our room well in advance, upon arrival we were shocked to learn that the hotel had given away our reserved room. Instead of accommodating us as promised, they sent us to another hotel far from the airport.
To make matters worse, we had to pay for a taxi to this alternate hotel out of our own pocket, as it didn't offer a shuttle service to Toronto Airport. This unexpected expense and inconvenience significantly disrupted our travel plans.
Following this ordeal, we reached out to the hotel management seeking compensation for the extra costs and inconvenience. Unfortunately, our attempts at communication were met with silence. The management never contacted us back, offered an apology, or made any effort to compensate us for the additional expenses we incurred due to their overbooking.
I want to warn other travelers: this hotel might sell your paid and reserved room without any notice and redirect you elsewhere, leaving you with no options and extra costs. The lack of customer service and accountability following this incident was extremely disappointing.
If you value reliability and customer service, I strongly advise considering other accommodation options near Toronto Airport. The risk of having your confirmed reservation disregarded and being left to fend for yourself is not worth it.
