The Bulls Head

Just got back from the Bulls Head and felt I had to put a review on .... despite having a caravan nearby for some reason we have never really visited the pub. However we popped in on Saturday afternoon after a trip to Kendal, the fire was roaring, the staff so friendly and the beer flowed .... we enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday lunch the following day and asked for the same table in front of the fire " No problem " was the response. We arrived Sunday and the table was ready with the fire well and truly ablaze. We ordered Sunday lunch, I went for the trio of meats and my wife roast beef. It was amazing, tender and tasty and lovely and hot, great gravy and yet again amazing service from the staff. We followed this with the chocolate brownie and ice cream which was to die for ! Why oh why have we never really been in here I do not know but what we do know is we have found our new local when up at the caravan. Great food, great staff, roaring fire and good beer !

Stayed in the family rooms 2 and 3 with adjoining Jack and Jill bathroom. Rooms not massive but comfortable beds with crisp linen. Waters , coffee, tea and biscuits all available in the room. Had evening meal which was excellent and keenly priced. Staff and owner extremely helpful. Nice atmosphere in the bar.Would recommend.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Bed comfortable and room quiet, but room smaller than we would prefer. Perfectly acceptable for one night. Evening meal acceptable but no ambiance. Breakfast OK. Property has free parking available close by.

My Wife and I have stayed at the Bulls Head in Milnthorpe for 2 nights. What an excellent find. All of the staff including the owner are super friendly. The evening meals are excellent, all home cooked and very reasonably priced.Breakfasts are also very good, well cooked and plentiful. All of the rooms are on suite and clean with all modern facilities, tv, kettle tea and biscuits. Some of the bedrooms are in the process of being refurbed. A real super stay if you are visiting lake Windermere approximately 20 minutes drive away and other attractions such as Grange over sands and Holker castle just to mention two. Went there with family for evening meal. Staff made us very welcome on our entering the hotel. Dining room was very comfortable. Our order was taken right away and we did not have long to wait for the food to come. All of our family thought their meal was well cooked, tasty and well presented.

Attended a funeral wake with a there home cooked buffet. Absolutely stunning the staff really looked after us all. The pub is a good size plenty of room for everyone the bar was efficiently staffed allowing quick service. The buffet was first class. I have been for just drinks over the years and has always been a favourite.
