Volga

I'm surprised at all the glowing reviews of this property. It is an architecturally interesting hotel, but form rules over function. The rooms all face an interior courtyard with a rooftop bar and pool area at the top of the atrium and a lounge and restaurant area at the base of the atrium. Non stop music with a strong bass is evident from one or both of the areas from approximately 2:00 pm to well past midnight, so unless you sleep like a bear in hibernation, it will impact your stay. At one point I asked the front desk when the music would stop and was told at 11:00 pm, but they would "turn it down" beforehand. The music was not turned down as I could sing along to every word. That night the music didn't stop until well after 1:00 am. We stayed in a "suite" with a soaking tub. Having the tub was nice, but the bathroom itself didn't offer privacy from the bedroom area. The bedroom area had a type of floating wood floor that was approximately 3-4" off the concrete floor and it was tricky navigating the step down at night. There should be a separate lighting system underneath the floor that can be utilized at night so one can see where the wood floor drops off. The restaurant staff is very friendly, but the breakfast menu is the same every day -- if you want some variety, you'd do better not getting the bed and breakfast rate. The hotel is located in a convenient and safe area -- I'll give it that. We cancelled our last two nights at the hotel and were told a credit would be issued to our credit card within a few days. It's been three weeks now and we're still waiting for the credit.

Lovely hotel with great rooftop pool and restaurant, and staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Crafted cocktails and food was very good. Walking distance to some lovely coffee shops, parks and Angel de Indepencia! Thank you, Dante!

Not only that, but he also arranged for beautiful flowers and balloons to be set up in our room—such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration even more special. The hotel itself is stunning, with a perfect blend of modern luxury and cozy elegance. The attention to detail in the design, the impeccable service, and the overall ambiance made our stay truly memorable. Our stay at Volga has been absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is gorgeous and such a treat to look at every time we come in and out. The rooms are very comfortable and are equipped with everything we needed for our stay. What stands out the most is the service. Our concierge Dante was so attentive and friendly! He helped me arrange a personalized birthday decoration in the room for my wife’s birthday and it surpassed my expectations. It’s also been such a treat seeing a friendly face greeting us every day. The banquet coordinator Cesar was also great, helping us coordinate a private mixology class at the rooftop bar of the hotel which was so much fun. We’ll definitely be coming back to Volga whenever we’re back in CDMX! Can’t recommend it enough.

Wonderful stay at the Volga! All amenities were amazing and the food and breakfast were top notch. All of the staff including manager Dante go above and beyond for guests. It’s in a very accessible area and we felt safe walking around the city in all neighborhoods. Highly recommend!

Everything about the hotel was amazing. It’s in an excellent location. Dante, the concierge, was incredibly helpful and kind and made our trip extra special. We were able to walk to almost all the activities we had planned for the long weekend.
