If I could give zero, I would. I booked and prepaid for two rooms for one night through Priceline. Arrived at the hotel and no one is at the front desk. I wait a few minutes, no one comes out. In a loud voice I yell "HELLO" several times. After 5 minutes I hear the sound of my grandmother's slippers sliding across the floor. I advise the clerk I am checking in and hand her my printed and paid confirmation sheet. She sees one room but does not see the other one. Well, OK, but you clearly see I booked and paid for two rooms...only one room shows in their system. She tells me I can pay for the 2nd room or go to another hotel. I ask to speak to a manager. She calls the manager on the phone and presents the issue very vaguely so that the jest of it is I don't have a 2nd reservation. I ask to speak to the manager and the clerk says she will not talk to me. I ask for the manager's name, clerk says she will not provide it. I ask for the clerk's name, she says I am not going to give you that. Oh My God, WTH kind of customer service is this??? I have driven 8.5 hours with a disabled relative. Because we must rest, I pay the full price for the room. I spend the next 3 hours on the phone with Priceline Corporate, Choice Hotels (Parent Company) and filing a formal complaint with the BBB. The Priceline rep calls the hotel to get the matter straightened out and the clerk hung up on her. The rep calls back and the clerk refuses to answer the phone. So, Priceline Corporate escalates the complaint. Choice Hotels actually finds the reservation. If the clerk had provided a smidgen of interest and customer care in resolving the issue, she would have asked the right questions and also found the reservation. But critical thinking and customer centric behaviors ain't in her wheelhouse so her only response is it's not in the system, pay full price for the room or go elsewhere. If she had asked the right questions, I would not have had the issue that caused me to be charged twice for a room that was prepaid. Clerk would not provide her name, mgr would not provide her name nor speak to me directly. OK, the Better Business Bureau, Priceline Corporate and Choice Hotels Corporate will be in touch, and you will be telling them your names as they have all taken my formal complaints that I filed this evening. Once the reservation was found they reversed the charges but then turned around and charged me $13 because the room has two double beds! The hotel is a dump. No elevator, ice machine on 2nd floor out of order, neither the door latch nor the deadbolt work in my room. And to think I had booked this hotel for my return trip. Canceled!! The owner is MJ Igbal. Sir, you are in the wrong business. I am a retired HR Director. Your employees are going to kill your business and your reputation. Yes, do indeed go elsewhere!!!
