Clean room and very friendly and accommodating staff going above and beyond

In need of lots of TLC. We have stayed here over the years quite a few times, I can’t fault the service the receptionist was very polite and friendly and the prices was a bargain. Since our last visit a few years ago it’s gone down hill a lot and needs alot of attention as the hotel is in lovely grounds and has a lot of potential, our room 111 had damp mould above the shower on the ceiling marks on sheets, peeling wallpaper dirty walls. Such a shame , i definitely couldn’t stay longer than one night now and certainly wouldn’t pay more than I did

Not sure if our room was typical of all the others. We were in Room 115. The room is spacious and looked clean. The carpet in the corridor and the room has seen much better days. The en suite is in need of a lot of work. There is nowhere for towels to hang, the shower head could not be tightened into position (we had to hold in our hands), the walls have mould on them. The mattress was so soft and thin you could feel the springs when you laid down. There were no electrical sockets either side of the bed. The bedside lights need fixing to the wall, they spin upside down when touched. There was 1 mug and 1 cup for hot drinks, so who gets the small hot drink? The biggest flaw was that the hotel advertises Free WiFi, what they don't say is that it's not in the rooms, only in the corridor, apparently it is good in the bar. Lady on reception told me that "Meriden is bad for WiFi". Breakfast was cramped, not enough seating even though the conservatory was empty and could have been used. Standing with a drink in your hands waiting for seats to become available is not the way to start your day. Food was OK, the warmers kept the food warm, not hot. Plenty of choice and best part of our stay. On the plus side the staff were pleasant and cheerful.

The food was lovely and well cooked. The service from when we entered was really good. All staff were friendly and polite. It was good value. I would definitely recommend. Although the menu was nit extensive there was something for everyone

We have used this hotel a couple of times as it is close to the airport and works out cheaper than paying for hotel and parking combined. The rooms are satisfactory but could do with a little tlc. Hotel the same. The gardens are stunning with lovely views. Although dated, the rooms are clean. The food in the restaurant was superb and well worth the money.

The hotel needs refurbishing from top to bottom. Staff were very good however broken towel rain in bedroom. WiFi wouldn’t connect. Quite shabby to be honest. Took ages to be seated for breakfast although the staff were doing their best. Convenient to attend a family celebration but wouldn’t go again

Had am amazing lunch, food was excellent and Linda, our hostess was so friendly. I had the chicken supreme, highly recommend. Thank you. Will be back next month to celebrate my 60th birthday. Was the best meal my husband and I have had for a long time.

We had a great stay here, the staff were so lovely and friendly. The food was amazing and such large portions too, lovely, hot plates and everything freshly cooked too & homemade. Linda our breakfast waitress was so lovely and friendly and such fun. The rooms are rather dated & battered but very clean & comforting. We will definitely return, don’t be put off by negative reviews on here!

Heard lovely things about the restaurant and it was recommended by a friend, however, unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience. Ordered salmon and leek tagliatelle and Camembert cheese. Pasta came with no garlic bread and was extremely watery. On the menu Camembert was with garlic, rosemary and onion marmalade- we received uncooked cheese with no toppings. Unfortunately would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
