Hôtel les Grangettes

We found the hotel to be excellent. Room ready by 13.00 on arrival day. Very good room with balcony and hot end-of-day sun and a great view. Room serviced every day. Half board. Buffet breakfast and diner had a good enough selection to suit our tastes and needs. Excellent service by staff. Excellent location with a very short walk to a selection of lifts for a quick start towards all parts of the system. Great to have a band playing each evening to 19.00 in Jack's bar. Ski and boot room security seemed to work though we kept an eye on it. Would certainly stay here again!

Perfect location, 2 minutes from main lifts and also 2mins from pool, ice rink, bowling etc. staff are terrific. So friendly and helpful. Rooms are quiet after Apres finishes in Jack’s around 8pm. Jacks also have brilliant staff , food and live bands.

Hôtel Les Grangettes. I have been here for the last 4 years. and many times over the last 25 years. I am going to condense this down so its not to long. STAFF EXCELLENT, this year great team of girls, all excellent, and helpful , polite and smiling. TERRIBLE sausages. excellent Bacon. BREAKFAST is a hit and miss affair, cold plates and eggs, rubbish compared to what it used to be. EVENING MEAL, hit and miss. sometimes excellent, sometimes not. BAKEWELL TART like concrete, not offered an alternative, deserts mainly a let down. sometimes main course not enough to eat. LOTS OF POTENTIAL, but only running at 60% a shame as they can cook, but little effort to make it really nice all the time. SECURITY TERRIBLE, still have keys to the rooms, SKIROOM STILL USING SAME CODE NUMBER AS LAST YEAR, they obviously dont care about guests possessions. IT NEEDS , hotel room card locks that you also use your door card for the boot and ski rooms, with CCTV. they can then monitor and record who uses the ski and boot rooms by the door card record. not rocket science in this day and age. NO AFTERNOON TEA AND CAKE, As I have been here many times before, I just feel that the girls in the hotel were doing a great job, but I get the feeling that the change was hindering them, not the same atmosphere as usual. THIS IS NOT THE HOTELS FAULT, but guests at the breakfast buffet, were just ignorant, bordering rude. never like this before. BREAKFAST was just disappointing, who want stone cold eggs, sausage like rubber, THE TOASTER at breakfast, STILL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, burns one side nothing the other side still rubbish, terrible to use. As the GRANGETTES is not run by Inghams anymore, its not Inghams fault, THESE ARE ALL THE FAULTS that management never see as important, and never correct, it's all about the money and not for the guests comfort. NOISY NOISY NOISY, the outside bar this year at bedtime was terrible, you always get some revellers, thats expected, but this year was terrible. 2 YEARS WITH THE SAME CODE NUMBERS, NO WONDER THERE ARE SO MANY THEFTS, AS STATED, NOT INGHAMS FAULT, THIS IS DOWN TO THE HOTEL NOW.

We stayed at les grangettes this winter. The staff were all warm and welcoming. Happy to talk to and give advice. Room comfortable and balcony. Radiators dried stuff after days riding. Shower good hot water. Breakfast good buffet. Dinner was really lovely with good choice and well presented. Drinks in hotel bar or Jacks bar. Fantastic location. Short walk to main lifts in meribel village. Boot room dried boots. Ski and snowboard storage in separate room. Lounge upstairs peaceful. Drinks out are not cheap but great atmosphere in town, especially fifty 50. The resorts are great. Well linked, though need be sensible if windy up top and warnings are given on the slopes. Massive area to explore. We had two nights with good snow in the week so really great fun. That comes with the downside of the road getting cleared from first thing for light sleepers.

We went as a family of 4 for our first ski holiday together over Xmas week and it was perfect. The ease of staying right next to the slopes with locker/boot rooms was so convenient, no trekking around with equipment, no waiting for buses, brilliant. The hotel is clean, comfortable and very well run by Claire and her team (special thanks to Maddie, Alex, Megan and the girls and chef Llewellyn) who are super friendly and always gave us a warm welcome and asked about our day on the slopes. Our room had a balcony which was great for watching the Christmas eve torch lit descent down the slopes and the fireworks. Our room was above Jacks bar so you do hear the excellent live music when in the room but it doesn't go on til too late and our kids are teenagers so they didn't mind it. The food, service and atmosphere in Jacks is fantastic, we ate lunch there several times and enjoyed the aprês ski live entertainment most nights (shout out to the fantastic staff there, especially Sean). The food in La Grangette is very good, breakfast is basic but lots of choice (the pain au chocolat and croissants are delicious) and the evening meals were really lovely (we went half board and were very glad we did) with a tasty and ample three course meal. It was a lovely surprise on Christmas day when they served a gorgeous traditional Christmas dinner. Méribel is such a beautiful resort and we can't wait to go back. The location, food and service at La Grangette is the reason we would book there again.
