Joshua Grindle Inn

In a town of great inns and BnBs, this one stands out for its comfort and warmth. Missy, who greeted me on arrival, could not have been kinder or more helpful. She seemed genuinely to care about her guests and to take an interest in our experience. I stayed in the water tower (middle level!), which had a gorgeous view of the town all the way to the ocean -- and a real fireplace as well. I enjoyed having the option to use the main house and living rooms for cups of tea and homemade cookies, just to lounge and chat to other guests after the buffet breakfast or in between my walks to town. Really fabulous books on history of the area -- and the owner Ken is very friendly and happy to share his knowledge too. I will be back.

Cozy lovely place to stay! I found this second floor of the water tower such a unique and well appointed little spot - it truly feels like a tree house stay! Perfect for the solo traveler or a couple. I would absolutely stay again. The word burning fireplace was lovely - they provide a log for each night so I popped it in before I fell asleep and it was just perfect

My husband and I loved our stay at Joshua Grindle Inn! Our room, the Library was in the main house, but still private, had so much character, comfort and ambiance. They delivered a log for the fire place for each night. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the sheets and pillows were so soft and high end. Great location. We walked to the Italian restaurant, Luna -- highly recommend, and drove to Trillium for dinner, also excellent! The breakfast, especially the scones were delicious. We hope to return soon, and I would definitely recommend!

Great Victorian inn. Loved the fireplace and the breakfast. Very clean and quiet and set way back from streets so no road noise. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and coast. Can't imagine a better stay!

Truly wonderful inn. We loved the comfortable bed, fireplace and jacuzzi tub in our room, The Master. The breakfast was delicious and the staff super friendly and helpful. We were impressed with the overall attention to detail throughout. It was a perfect location, walkable to town and high on a hill with a view of the ocean. We highly recommend this place. In fact we have already to friends and family.

We had an excellent stay at the Joshua Grindle Inn! The hosts are friendly, and the cottage room was so cozy, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Highly recommend for anyone spending time in the Mendocino area. The breakfast was delicious and the deck view is wonderful when the weather permits.
