The rooms were clean and perfect for our needs, the evening meal was excellent and well worth the price paid. The breakfast was good with a choice of cereal and or cooked. There was no surrounding noise in the night and the bar itself is a lovely quaint pub.

Sadly things are not good at the inn. Rooms small with strong smell of damp. Overpriced for standard of rooms, with poor cleaning, particularly in the shower room/toilet. Adequate parking and reasonable breakfast.

Cleaning is completely below standard and I was thankful I was only here for one night and was out for most of it! Bedroom surfaces were thick with dust, mould in places and hair in the bathroom. Everything is in need of a good scrub if not an entire refurb as the decor is also very outdated. I left early the next morning, choosing to shower at home than face the bathroom! Walls are very thin and we were grateful to get a room at the back otherwise you’d have to deal with the loud road noise. Staff were very friendly and helpful but hard to find. The pub/restaurant offers about 5-6 options on the menu ranging from £13-20. The food was good but again tables and cutlery weren’t clean, I’d be reluctant to eat here again. Breakfast is served during a very limited timeframe 8-9am and ours was cold. And don’t think you’re getting much, you’ll get one rasher of bacon, one sausage, one egg, some beans and a tomato although cereal is also an option.

Only stayed one night as we were doing a ghost hunt at Shepton Mallet Prison. Owner was very welcoming and polite. Room was comfortable and well kept. Food in the evening was of excellent quality and portions were more than enough. Breakfast of the same quality and very tasty. Overall the stay was very pleasant. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night here, we had an evening meal and breakfast. Food was gorgeous, the room was lovely too. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Can’t fault it, will definitely stay again when we’re passing next time. Really lovely old style pub.

We stayed at the Pecking Mill during the Glastonbury festival. Geoff and Parveen are the most friendly and helpful couple, nothing was too much for them and they made us feel very welcome. Location great, 2 min drive from Bath and West. Facilities basic but have everything you need and breakfast was great. The couple really make the place special by making their guests feel so comfortable.

Stayed for two nights initially in a very small room then asked to be moved. Larger room had a very dirty bathroom with soiled towels one with a blood stain, and the bath was discussing and had mould all around the taps. Skirting by the toilet had what appeared to be a brown substance in it. Road noise meant a 4am wake up call as lorries thundered three feet past me window. Definitely one to avoid!
