Bowden House B&B

We had a very nice room in a beautiful mansion, with a private guarded parking, a lovely garden and a superb view on the surroundings. Everything is well taken care off, and the host Uta is very friendly and enthusiastic to advise on your trips in The Borders. Breakfast is served at a common table which is nice to meet with other guests, and everything is as fresh as can be, and well prepared. Plenty of dining possibilities around, but it will require a few miles driving.

We had a wonderful Stay at Bowden B&B. Lovely location ideal for our stay as attending Thirlston Castle Classic car show. We chose Bowden House for its safe and secure courtyard for our 1960s car. We received a warm welcome from Uta and Jason and pleased to meet the dogs.( Didn't see enough of them). The house and gardens were beautiful, our room was spacious and a comfy bed and a lovely view of gardens and countryside. The breakfast was to die for and set us up for the day. We would recommend Bowden House and hope to return in the near future.

Absolutely LOVELY experience staying here at the Bowden House. Uta is warm and oh so welcoming - she's very interesting, helpful and thoughtful with her Guests. She and her husband are the definition of 'Consummate Hosts'. The breakfast they served was superb, generous and the setting is peaceful and gorgeous. The location is perfect, so close to the charming village of Melrose and other wonderful Scottish Borders towns. I'd highly recommend staying at the Bowden House while in the area.

Lovely B&B - they have 3 rooms so it's wonderfully intimate and on lovely grounds. The host's are really helpful and the breakfast is scrumptuous - The bed in the Mahogany room was soft but firm - so a good night's sleep was had by all. .........................................................................................................

I very rarely give 5 stars… Uta & Jason have really invested a lot of attention in the details. Not all B&B ‘s provide face cloth’s in the shower, conditioner and lotion. I really appreciated the taller toilet -as we age it’s appreciably noticeable! We thoroughly enjoyed our chat with Jason by the nice fire. Uta goes out for breakfast… and the views and gardens are stunning!

Great host, good communication and very quick response. Very flexible, with a very warm welcome. The accommodation had a lovely home feel, very spacious front sitting area for guests. We had a lovely (totally unexpected) hot drink which was lovely when it is so cold outside and some cupcakes to go with it. The room has everything you need, we stayed for one night. We had a lovely meal at Melrose and came back to a nice bottle of bubble as we were celebrating a couple of birthdays. The room was very clean, good shower and comfy bed. The view outside was amazing. We had a lovely breakfast, which consist of a nicely presented fruit platter, a choice of cold cereals, yoghurt and a cooked breakfast. We had eggs with salmon and avocado (an odd but surprisingly good paring) and salsa. Unless you are asking for the world the host is very flexible with the choice of breakfast. Other good points Lots of parking space Gated - very secure nice fire place Has 2 lovely dogs (only came out when guest are happy) Thank you for our stay, I would most certainly come back
