Seerose Meisterschwanden Resort & Spa

We came back in summer as promised. Were warned about the increased busyness but we thought it never seemed cramped: the sunbeds, the whole property still felt serene. A great environment to relax, read and reload. A swim in the lake is amazing. Staff is great: from gardeners to reception. The rooms stay amazing: beautiful balconies (with bathtub) and great space. We will keep coming back to this hide-away more and more.

This is a relaxing hotel in a very calm spot by the lake. The spa is great, with diverse activities and access to the outside garden, pool and lake. Many of the rooms give over the large (very large!) parking area so if you prefer views of the lake and the fields, make sure on reservation that you don't overlook the cars. An additional plus is that the buffet breakfast is served until noon. On the downside, there appears to be a problem with ventilation in the main building. Our room had a sometimes very strong smell of old cabbage and thai cooking. We also had a problem with the A/C which tended to switch itself on during the night. All the restaurant prices were eye-wateringly high, even by Swiss standards. The less fancy lakeside café offered a more relaxed atmosphere than the hotels' three restaurants but the food was less than average.

looks more like a retirement home than a hotel. The pool is allowed to children from 7 to 12 o'clock. And when we are inside we ask the children to be quiet. Yes, children live, play and shout...get used to it! Whether you allow children or not, you have reduced the time slots for children to go to the pool year after year. At least put it clearly on your website and make this "hotel" an adults only hotel. When I wanted to leave before my reservation, I even had to pay for the second night...what a scam.... I lost my money...

Mmmmh: where do I start. In no particular order (restaurants I will rate separately): reception is very nice, the location and grounds are beautiful. The surrounding lends itself for beautiful walks. The whole vibe was extremely serene and zen. Hard to put a finger on it why that is: it’s a feeling matter. The hotel is super dog-friendly. Dogs are not only tolerated but staff is super nice with them. The bar and the super nice blonde bar lady whose name I unfortunately forgot are amazing. We had a great time there: super cocktails/beers in a super relaxed setting. The breakfast was super too: from the fresh honey, variety in general, the fresh egg dishes, beautiful interior, local juices to other regional ingredients , and again, a common theme, great staff!! Spa and fitness was fantastic. The whole interior architecture is actually amazing. The room was just great! So many hotel rooms have zero storage capacity so that you end up living from your suitcase: not here. You can actually enjoy your room fully. View is spectacular, the outside bathtub is quirky and me and my wife actually thought this was super cool and we enjoyed it thoroughly, the lighting is stylish, the shower is beautifully spacious, mattresses are great as are the pillows. Now to say our stay was cheap, that would be a blatant lie: prices are steep-ish, but after we enjoyed every second of our stay and could not find a single point to criticise, we thought it was worth every cent we paid: we just had a perfect stay with the family to charge batteries and start the new year fully relaxed and I could not a price to that. I am a fan: this place is special and has a vibe most five star hotels do not even have. We have not even totally unpacked and are already planning our next stay…..: suppose that says it all!!
