Hotel Hochsauerland by Center Parcs

I am a frequent Center Parcs visitor. But this was absolutely horrible. For the price of more then 2.5K this was absolutely miserable. We had a VIP Cottage. But I don't know why it was called VIP. This park is losing its shine very fast. Let's start positive: - The Park design is good. There are a lot of things for children. - The play grounds are great. The fact that the Adventure Land is really close by is a big bonus - The people working there are all very very friendly and willing to help. - The beds were good and supportive. - The gamehall and trampolines are awesome - The summer activities are great. - The green in the park is overall well maintained. There are a lot of weeds in the backgardens of the cottages but overall its good. But the negative: - The house was very dirty. We even found used tissues which is very gross but to top that we even found soiled underwear in the children bed. The bathrooms were wiped clean but you could tell they were still dirty due to all the grease stains. The floor was dusty, Threads of dust were hanging in the corners of the ceiling, the cutlery still had leftover food stuck to it. Our holiday started by going to the shop to buy soap and clean everything in that house. - The house is old and it shows. The furniture had it's best time. The most comfortable seats where the garden seats. The stairs are creaky and the paint is all worn off. Damages in the wall have been painted over leading to a nice spotted colored wall. - The food was lousy. We had kuchen that was still frozen on the inside, meat that was rubbery and dry, vegetables that were withered and soggy. - The price of the food is very high. - The bubble bathtub worked half. The lights didn't go on, the pressure couldn't be adjusted because the knob would fall off. - There are a lot of cars in the park. Not only the normal golfcars but actual cars. - The fresh breadrolls were delivered once IN the cottage while we were sleeping upstairs. That is a big no! I'm visiting center parcs for 30 years. This was the worst, most expensive visit I ever had. It feels as a waste of 2.5k. I will never return to this park and makes me think to stop going to Center Parcs.

The area surrounding Centre Parcs Hochsauerland is picturesque and quintessentially what you expect of Germany. Cute villages with chalet style housing, hills and forest. Very beautiful. The centre @ Centre Parcs itself was lovely and clean and had lots of activities, but sadly as an English family who did not speak German or Dutch, several were unavailable as they did not have the staff who could run the sessions in English. We tried to hire the push bikes for the 9 kids within our group, but they only had 6 for the whole site, which had over 700 lodges. We tried to hire the 6 along with three e-scooters, but they only had 2 of those working. The adventure area was great with loads of activities for the kids to do while the adults had a coffee. The communal areas in the lodges were very clean with all you could need, but sadly in areas you could not see (underneath beds) were filthy, with what I would imagine was several months’ worth of dirt. Off site, there are some great activities to try (luge, skiing (when snowy), zip lining and mountain biking) about 15 minutes drive away and these are reasonably priced. All in all, I would not recommend this Centre Parcs unless you speak German or Dutch, although there were several English families had made the long drive to the site.

Es war wieder ein gelungener Urlaub im Center Parcs Hochsauerland. Habe keine negativen Erfahrungen gemacht. Haus super sauber. Personal super nett und hilfsbereit.

Der Centerparc liegt in einer wunderschönen Gegend mit toller Aussicht. Die Anreise ist aufgrund der Lage etwas kurvig, dafür weilt man in einer wunderschönen Gegend. Die Unterkunft (Ferienhaus Premium): Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet, hat einen tollen Sitzplatz und wir hatten eine ruhige, schöne Lage. (Haus Nr. 537). Auf den ersten Blick wirkte das Haus sauber (wir kamen am späteren Nachmittag an, stellten das Gepäck kurz rein und machten uns dann sofort auf den Weg um noch einige Einkäufe zu erledigen). Leider stellten wir dann mit der Zeit fest, dass unsere Vorgänger wohl einen grossen, weissen Hund mit dabei hatten.. denn wirklich überall im Haus waren weisse Hundehaare.. mein Versuch, dieser mit dem Staubsauber zu beseitigen schlugen leider ziemlich fehl, denn der ganze Staubsauger war voll mit diesen Haaren.. Bei unserer Abreise habe ich dann festgestellt, dass der Hund auch im Bett geschlafen hatte - die ganze Matratze war voll mit Hundehaaren.. da ich nur die Kinderbetten mit einem Molton versehen hatte (welche leider nicht bestandteil der Bettwäsche sind, welche man mietet - was ich sehr bedenklich finde, denn so landet so mancher "Unfall" wohl in der Matratze, habe ich diese Haare leider erst bei der Abreise festgestellt). Auch unter dem Bett und unterm Sofa und speziell auf dem Eingangsteppich waren sehr, sehr viele Haare - für nicht Hundehalter leider sehr eklig.. Ansonsten hat und leider auch sehr gestört, dass in einem der Zimmer ab 06.00 alles Taghell ist.. die Vorhänge dichten nicht richtig ab und es wird viel zu hell im Zimmer.. da die Fenster auf ca 3-4 Metern höhe sind, kann man sie auch nicht einfach anders abdichten. Allgemein stellte sich die Sauberkeit als Mässig heraus.. überall gabe es Spinnweben, im Garten Zigaretten im Gebüsch etc.. Anlage: Die Anlage ist autofrei und ziemlich steil zum laufen (Golfcar zahlt sich aus). Die Häuser liegen viel näher beisammen als in andern Centerparcs und teils war es nach 23.00 Uhr noch ziemlich laut. Der Marketdome ist sehr schön. Im Supermarkt hat es ein ausreichendes Sortiment, jedoch fehlten immer mal wieder längere Zeit einige Produkte (schinken gab es ca 5 Tage plötzlich keinen mehr).. Der Spielbereich für die Kinder (Minigolf, Klettern etc.) ist auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen und etwas lieblos - das kann centerparc eigentlich viel besser - wir kennen da viel schönere! Das Aqua Mundo ist eher etwas karger als in anderen Parcs (weniger Bepflanzung). Der Wasserspielplatz ist jedoch mega und auch der Aussenstrom (es ist kein Wildwasserstrom) ist ganz lustig mit den Wellen. Die Rutschen sind auch toll jedoch gehört in meinen Augen bei der Reifenrutsche jemand hin, der aufpasst denn es sind diverse Kinder ohne Reifen gerutscht was in meinen Augen sehr gefährlich werden kann (sie blieben in der Mitte stecken und wurden dann von Reifen überollt..) Auch war die Dusche an einem Tag sehr eklig (es lag für min 3 Stunden etwas braunes, undefinierbares am Boden und es roch arg nach Urin

Das Haus war wie immer sauber und ordentlich. Die Betten waren für die meisten von uns angenehm, mir war es ein bisschen zu hart. Die Heizungen heizen richtig gut, besonders im Bad wird es schön warm und man kann die Handtücher gut trocknen. Das Bad war wie immer mega schön. Das Wasser kam uns etwas kühl vor und bei den niedrigen Außentemperaturen war es doch etwas frisch, wenn man im Wasser war. Die Lufttemperatur war aber schön warm. Alles wieder sauber und nirgends lag etwas herum. Supermarkt ist gut sortiert. Man kann für den nächsten Tag Brötchen zum Haus bestellen. Sehr cool! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Geweldig verblijf gehad op dit park in mooie ruimtelijk huizen. 3 Slaapkamers, sauna, jacuzzi’s, bbq. Groot indoor zwembad. Het is wel erg heuvelachtig dus te adviseren een golfkar te huren voor het gemak. Autovrij park(alleen om uit te laden. Parkeren buiten het park. Zeker voor ouderen is golfkar te adviseren, anders is dit moeilijk te belopen helling op en af
