Sport & Spa Hotel Strass

Every year we return to Hotel Strass for the Christmas period and it is truly magical. As a family of 5, we have two large luxurious bedrooms with balconies overlooking the mountain views. The bedroom and hotel decor is modern, stylish and very cozy. They are very clean and spacious, which is perfect for a ski trip when you have lots of gear with you! The food is wonderful and fresh - with an open buffet for breakfast each morning with plenty of choices. The dinners are tasty, with a 3-4 course meal and open salad bar each night which we always look forward to after a long day of skiing. The location is within seconds of the major ski lift, meaning there's no need to get public transport. You simply walk right out of the hotel and you are at the bottom of the lift! The hotel is also amongst the lovely street full of ski shops, supermarkets, gift shops, bars and restaurants to name afew.. The street walks are scenic and within 5mins walking you can explore the river walks. Within the hotel you have access to the family spa and adult spa. Both are luxurious and very relaxing after skiing. The adult spa (underground) is one of the best I've ever seen - with loads of different relaxation rooms including different temperature saunas, salt rooms, steam rooms, hot/cold pool, hot tub etc. Ontop of all of this, the communal areas are clean with a great atmosphere. There are board games, live music nights and bars open. A lovely space to play some family board games! You also have the Ice Bar if you want apres ski or evening drinks. I honestly couldn't recommend this hotel more, especially for families/couples/friends looking for a cozy winter (or summer!) break. There is a reason we come back here each year and we wouldn't choose anywhere else! Already counting down the days for our next visit. Thank you Hotel Strass!

Returned to the Strass and indeed to Mayrhofen for the first time in eight years. Glad to see that the hotel has maintained its high quality. The rooms have been renovated since I was last there and my single room was both beautiful to look at and comfortable. Every detail is thought of including a little box of tricks in the bathroom (shower cap, cotton buds and sewing kit) and even a tote bag to take down to the spa. The lady who took care of the rooms went above and beyond even to decorating the loo rolls. The restaurant staff were efficient and friendly and it is a compliment to the head waiter that the quality didn't drop on his days off. The food was off the scales. Breakfast had a wide variety of choices and I availed myself of most of them. The five course dinner was plentiful and of a very high standard. The reception staff were courteous, friendly and as efficient as ever. I loo forward to returning. Hopefully sooner than eight years.

Once more we stayed in our favourite friendly hotel here in beautiful Mayrhofen .. The hotel provides an excellent base for walking holidays, breakfast is varied and plentiful.evening meals are chosen in the morning, plenty to choose from the four courses, I could not manage the soup course. The rooms in the Strass are traditional, with a shower over the bath and separate toilet. There are lovely fluffy pillows and duvets for a good nights sleep. The hotel is next to the main Penken lift so very central.Rooms on the front can be noisy at weekends. Looking forward to returning again next year, thanks to all the friendly staff. John.
