Ryan's River Lodge B&B

We were contemplating staying here as a fishing trip but when we went to suss out the fishing we didn’t feel very welcome as a visitor in the area. They made it impossible to fish comfortably. Just a heads up fellow anglers . Tight lines and we will stay elsewhere.

Stayed one night in Cong at Ryan's River Lodge wish it had been longer, we were delighted with Cong it was so pretty and has lovely walks in the forest near the abbey and by the river. We went in homage to The Quiet Man film which was my late mother in laws favourite, we went on the guided tour which was excellent. Ryan's river lodge is very comfortable, we enjoyed the view of the flowing river across the road from the salmon hatchery very much. Martha and her lovely daughter in law make you feel welcome, breakfast was very good too, the breakfast room is beautiful in an understated way. All in all a place we would love to return to.

My wife and I were visiting Cong especially for the link to the movie The Quiet Man. We stayed at the B&B for 2 nights. The room was very nice and comfortable. The price was also very reasonable. (Just a tad lower than at Ashford Castle.) The breakfast was excellent. The owners make you feel very welcome at the B&B. The location is very convenient to all the activities around Cong.

We can't recommend this place enough. Fantastic hosts, rooms with lovely en suite and powerful shower, comfy bed and beautiful views. The location is perfect and breakfast choices are first class and plentiful. Thank you for a great weekend.

We spent three lovely nights at the Ryan's River Lodge and the warm welcome and treatment we were given made us feel as though we were home. The room was sparkling clean and fresh with a lovely shower that gave no issues but a warm relaxing way to end the day. I had requested the two bedroom room which gave us a twin and a double and did book it direct. The location was superb as Cong is such a walkable town. Across the tiny road is a waterfall and the stream which runs to the lake. Breakfast was enjoyed in a bright and cheerful room shared with other friendly lodgers. We enjoyed homemade brown bread and scones with our hearty Irish breakfast. Choices of fresh fruit, yogurts are available and you complete your breakfast "order" every day on the menu so that it is customized for your wishes. Even though the weather was rainy and cool, we were given a warm welcome by the Ryans!

We came to Cong because we're big fans of movie The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. We picked Ryan's River Lodge because it was right near The Quiet Man Museum. The owners were wonderful people and took care of us like family! The room was simple in keeping with the beauty and theme of the area, very clean, and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding kept us warm even though the weather was a little chilly at night. The hotel is right across from the most beautiful stream and it was pure joy to be able to walk to everything we wanted to see, but especially to the woods nearby. They were magical! The sounds of the stream/river, the birds, and the colors of the flowers, trees, and mosses were refreshing to our souls. You can even walk to Ashford Castle very easily. You can't go inside, but it's quite a sight to look at from outside. We will always be grateful for our time in Cong, and we would come to Ryan's River Lodge again!
