It was awesome staying there but there was a hiccup at one point, we booked the place to have access to the sauna and jacuzzi and it was closed during our stay without notification, so instead we decided to have a warm bath but the water from the bath was yellowish.. that said.. they changed us rooms, also gave us a bottle of champagne and a free 50mins massage session.. in all though, it was a nice place, the food was awesome and lovely atmosphere!
Beautiful hotel, in great grounds, with a good beach. That is the only highlight for this hotel. Our break was meant to be a recharge, and a little winter sun. Sadly that has not been the case due to poor management of public areas. No matter where you are in the resort the squeal, and screaming of children is not far away. At the pool, there is a lovely swim up bar, with clear signage as adult only, but more often than not children out numbered the adults. Are adults raised this via the app, at reception, and at the bar but no change throughout the week In the evening there is a bar at reception, and the entertainment club. The club is your usual mix of entertainment and engaging for children. This is obviously not enough for some as the reception bar had hoards of children running, screaming, and running over furniture. This was whilst at least 5 members of staff loitered with no interest. I would not recommend for adults, or for those with well behaved children.

We will Not go back until they sort out the Wind issue & Lack of Fun & Entertainment I Kitesurf so love the wind on the water but the Family refuses to return because it is unbearable for them at the Pool in the wind. Having stayed at the RIU Creole at this location before Head Office demolished it, the Turquoise is a horrible disappointment. Review after review has told them so since it opened 9 months ago and they have done nothing to fix it . How sad and infuriating ! The Head Office architects, clearly never visited Mauritius before becasue they faced the main building into the wind so it howls all day and all night over the swimming pool and even through reception. The passages are literally wind tunnels ! The only spot with no wind is the Theatre where the old swimming pool used to be. Yes, ****** get jobs too. From the most exciting fun hotel in Mauritius to the Worst ! There used to be epic live musicians in the huge thatch covered lounge sitting area that could seat 200 people around the main bar. They used to start at 6.30pm and finish around 7.30pm. Then you'd have a nice dinner and thereafter head to the nightly show in the Theatre connected to the main covered lounge area. Now the only place to sit under-cover is at reception, where maybe 30 people can sit in a howling gale. It is horrible. It is all Concrete and fake plastic plants. No traditional Mauritian Reed Thatch. However: It can be redeemed ! 1) Cover the central open seating courtyard area in front of Reception 2) Add Glass stacking doors around to act as a wind-shield when its really unpleasant 3) Add a bar in the new covered lounge with an entertainment stage 4) Fire the ****** that destroyed a perfectly good hotel that only needed a refurbish Lastly, there is nothing more irritating than being told you cannot go to one of the two speciality restaurants becasue it is fully booked and then you to walk past them and see they are 80% empty every night and closed every other night. Having visited RIU Creole every year since 2016 its so sad to be forced to go somewhere else. ****** ! It is almost a year since the new horrible hotel opened and they have done nothing to fix the issues despite hundreds of reviews saying the same things. ... Oh Wait, you know how miserable the wind can be for the Family, then you convince them to just try to Windsurf... The Hotel no longer offers windsurfers for Guests to use ! You can't make this stuff up !!!

We are a family of 6 who are currently waiting for our airport transfer from the RIU Turquoise after a wonderful 14 night stay. We have stayed in various RIU hotels all over the world, including Maldives, Cape Verde & Fuerteventura & have never been disappointed, this new build was no exception. The hotel is beautifully kept, absolutely spotless, the housekeeping staff, gardeners & cleaners are relentlessly assuring everything is sparkling. On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely Vickesh who was warm, friendly, informative & generally exceptional. He continued to be so helpful throughout our stay, arranging bookings in the speciality restaurants when we had minor issues with the app & always offering efficient service in an individual & professional way. Management are always on hand around about the site, taking time to chat to guests & and take on any feedback. The main restaurant service was excellent, special thanks to the lovely Suzy & Juliet who were our servers on many occasions & are an absolute credit to the RIU team. The food in the main restaurant was fresh, plentiful, & of a great standard when it comes to variety. We stayed for 2 weeks, used both the speciality restaurants & were always very happy with the meals. The chefs work exceptionally hard to ensure the food is fresh / replenished & presented well & we were never bored with the selection. The pools were excellent, we mainly used the quieter one which is a great size & comfortable temperature. The setting here is stunning.. at one end of the beach you are at the foot of Le Morne Brabant where you can see kite surfing daily. Further along towards the Palace side of the hotel the waters are Turquoise & calm. We have had the most magical time here in Mauritius & will be very sorry to leave.

Travelled with my sister and stayed 15 nights here in Mauritius. Is the hotel perfect? No. But then what hotel is. Is this a great hotel? Yes. We arrived at 11.45am and as per the RIU standard we were unable to check into our room until 3pm. No issue as there is a great courtesy room set up next to the lobby bar. Have some beachwear/sun cream at the top of your case and head to the pool/beach and start your holiday - just ask reception for your beach towel cards early. We didn’t need to use the reception desk much during our stay but the staff were always helpful and polite. Any issues were sorted that day (our minibar was not stocked on one day. This was restocked within an hour). Rooms are fine and have everything you need. Beds comfy. Housekeeping polite although didn’t always leave enough towels! Food Yes, the breakfast is the same everyday. Eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, French toast, omelettes, pastries, porridge, selection of breads, pancakes, cold meats and cheeses, cereal, fruit, yogurt, salad. What more do you want?! Snack bar does exactly what you would expect. Burgers/hot dogs/chips/onion rings and salad. Nothing fancy. Main restaurant for lunch and dinner always had something. As a fairly fussy eater there was always a few options for me. They do cook the steaks medium but then sit under the hot light and continue to cook. If you want it well done ask the person on the grill and they are more than happy to cook it to your taste. I think I might have eaten my own body weight in prawns during the course of my stay. Chouhan is an absolute darling and will look after you here. The app to book your a la carte restaurants isn’t the best. We found that these booked up quickly and managed to book 3 times in the steak and once in the Indian. Tip: if you are awake at midnight go on the app then this is when we could get reservations. Kunal and Christopher in the steakhouse were amazing. You were never left thirsty and the surf and turf was great! We didn’t find the pool unclean. In fact quite the opposite. The only day there was a slight issue was when the grass had been cut and the breeze blew the cuttings poolside. It is very windy poolside. But when the wind is missing the heat is almost unbearable! Please do not be surprised by this. The hotel is advertised as a kite surfers paradise and it certainly is. Go watch these guys on the beach. The hotel cannot change their position on the island! If you are put off by the wind. Don’t book here! The swim up bar is supposed to be over 18s only. Unfortunately this is not policed and a few times we had our beers/cocktails topped up with pool water thanks to unruly children. There are signs though. That unfortunately parents seem to ignore. The staff in the bars are amazing. Special shout out to Patrice, Yash, Manish and Sachin in the pool bar/sports bar. These guys kept us well hydrated and regularly were pouring our two beers as we got in the pool or walked through the doors of

We were slightly apprehensive before our holiday after reading some negative reviews but our whole family (13 of us, ages ranging from 2-65) had a lovely holiday. The hotel isn’t luxurious - if you are wanting luxury then you need to pay more and stay at one of the many 5 star hotels on the island. We previously visited Mauritius and did stay at the Lux Belle Mare which is a five star hotel and luxurious but it’s not fair to compare the two as they are completely different. Riu Turquoise is a very nice hotel in a pretty location with modern facilities, good entertainment and fairly good food and drinks. We were lucky enough to be there for NYE and we had a really enjoyable evening - from the gala dinner to the live entertainment - it was a great evening under the stars so thank you for that. Pros: - modern hotel with good facilities particularly the lobby, children’s splash park, sega theatre and sports bar - lovely manicured garden areas and the beach is nice ( there are better in Mauritius but this is still lovely with the Le Morne mountain backdrop) - the wind. We found the wind to be a positive unlike some reviews. It’s so hot in January that the wind provides some relief. Plus it’s really just when you are on the beach, it drops when you are around the pool area - entertainment team. They really are an asset to the hotel. Daytime activities include aqua gym and magic carpet and evening entertainment was always fun and varied. - Al a Carte. As other reviews state, it is difficult to book the restaurants but if you do succeed in booking, they are both nice and it feels like a treat to be served your dinner rather than having to serve yourself at the buffet - Pepes snack bar- it’s basic food but the chicken and burgers are tasty and nice to be able to eat around the pool - pool bar and sports bar staff are great Cons: - cleanliness. This really does need to be addressed. The corridors leading to rooms and the pool areas are so dirty. It really is off putting. - toilet water. Recycled sewerage water is used to fill the toilets but every time you flush the toilet there is an awful smell. - there is no shaded area in any pool. The sun is on them all day. This may be a positive for some but with small children in tow, it’s not ideal. - there are no international branded alcoholic drinks but this is typical of a 4star hotel so not really a negative Suggestions: - please clean the pool areas with clean water. It really is letting the hotel down - install air fresheners in the bathrooms to help with the smell - a small shaded area in one of the pools would be great for families with younger children - an all day icecream bar would be greatly appreciated by adults and children alike. You can only get icecream in the buffet during lunch and dinner Overall we had a great holiday and if your budget does not stretch to a five star resort, we would recommend this as a good 4star.

Short summary - really nice hotel for a reasonable price, but as it is new, then some things needs to be improved. 1. New hotel, everything is new and modern. It attracts. 2. Good food with local alcohol drinks. Absolutely good food with fish and shrimps every day. Actually i expected much less. 3. There is entertainment, but it is quite average, nothing comparing to Turkish hotels. But it goes every evening. During the day there is a schedule of activities including sports. 4. Reception is ok, but it is very rare when they pick up the phone. Butter come and ask. We had a double bed wich were two separate beds, at firts they didnot want to fix, but finally gave us the near room with normal double bed. 5. Beach. From one point of view it is large and wide with palms and a lot of space for all guests. Some guest dont like the wind, but for me it was ok, not so hot when it is windy. But the sand is full of construction rubbish, cement, wall plates. This needs to be cleaned. And i strongly suggest to make it, otherwise it is not a sandy beach, but a rubbish beach. Overall we liked the hotel. They keep here the same level as in other Riu hotels which we visited.

The buffet at the RIU Turquoise hotel was exceptional, offering a variety of delicious, high-quality dishes that catered to every craving. Honest review. Spent 12 nights at Riu Turquoise. Arrived at the hotel on the 3rd November 2024 before 9am, room wasn't ready until about 1.5 hours later, the man at reception wasn't really welcoming very robotic behaviour, not smile, no welcome drinks. Once we got the room we had to wait for 2 hours for our suitcases and kept ringing reception for check where were they as we wanted to get chenged after 12 hour flight from Gatwick.We got them in the end. We had the best view directly to the beach. Beautiful place but indeed windy. Every morning i was woken up at 5.30am by a noisy tractor collecting all the algae from the beach, riding till about 7 or 7.30am, bloody hell!!! It was clean, yes but I don't like to be woken up at 5.30am on my holiday! The wind is bearable, takes away the heat, and when you move towards Riu Palace brach or JW Marriott the wind recedes. Enough sun lounges and due to the wind we were not surrounded by crowds. The restaurants booking: we went to both, really good food and service. To book it, do it literally at midnight when the slots are released. Riu Palace has access to the bookings so this is the reason why so many people could not book it while there as Palace can access all facilities at Riu. My husband worked it out the way :-) Some people at the bar are just indifferent no smile while serving drinks, on Tiu website said a good selection of international spirits, No! Only when you have on the menu. So just over 6 or 7 to choose from local ones, me being not a drinking person, i chose non alcoholic drinks which were quite nice. Room: we had two twin beds which were keep moving even at the slightest move, I kept turning in bed and the bed was moving, two of the beds legs were wheels! Food: good selection. I have enjoyed the food, Variety of veg, meat ( I don't eat eat pork or lamb) not enough fruits, and the orange juice WASN'T FRESHLY squeezed only mixed with either squash or similar, and you could see the skin bits in it meaning they were extracting the juice including the skin, which wasn't nice. The restaurant staff was polite, some just robotic again. Entertainment: was good, Variety. Security present all day. No pushy people selling items on the beach. We got a driver from the hotel to take alis for trips. Check out: noone asked how was your holiday, did you enjoy the time. It was,: OK you have checked out, bye We wanted to upgrade to Palace but no spaces. If you want Le Morne go to Palace or Lux, we will definitely do that on our next trip. Overall good, just above average. The hotel was opened earlier this year, it didn't appear so.

I would have given 5* however we had a couple of little niggles but nothing that would ruin our stay. Staff all very friendly, the app was very handy for when we needed anything. The minibar was stocked with beer, water and fizzy pop, that was a shame as my Hubby enjoyed the beer but I’m a wine drinker, but it wasn’t a big issue. One thing that was a bit off putting was a greasy handprint on the headboard! I will let you use your imaginations on how that probably got there Overall Mauritius was an absolutely stunning island and I would definitely go back but maybe try a different area. As previously stated it is quite windy but we found it a relief as it was sooooo hot!

Very nice and quality standard place. Customer Service perfect Food Perfect Swimming pool perfect However we spent only 1 day and was not able to do the sea activities due to the wind. Also too much to walk from the kids pool to the hotel main pool. No sega show on that day however

Very poor customer service. We booked a honeymoon package just after our wedding, which included early check in, honeymoon decoration, sparkling wine & gift as part of the package. To our surprise, the hotel entry was under constrution quite a turn off factor, we got the room 1 hour after normal check in time. The room was not even decorated, we had to pester the front office to get honeymoon amenities, everytime we complaint the front office staff didnt even cared. Till our checkout, we didnt even get the sparkling wine. Very poor experience at this hotel, it ruined our honeymoon stay. Highly not recommended. Will not again for sure.

We loved our stay. There was lots of food varieties. Staff was very friendly. However despite asking the housekeeping to clean our room several times, they did not come. But overall it was good
