The hotel is still new and modern. The rooms are spacious and clean! The food is delicious as always in RIU hotels. But the service is toooo slow! If we need do ask for a towel or any amenities, it takes forever. More than an hour to get it. The view is stunning but it is windy around this area! Keep this in mind

I want to thank everyone who works at this hotel for their tireless effort and services, starting from the top, to the list, specially the bar attendance, kitchen crew, house keepers and entertainers. You made our holiday an experience, keep it up. I am writing cause of the negative messages some guest wrote about the hotel and their service, “I guess those guest didn’t visit same RIU PALACE MAURITIUS” that I did . I recommend this hotel for everyone, both family and just adults, come and have an amazing experience.

The Riu Palace 5* is not a real 5*. More 4*+. Starting with check in, you as a guest, stand up for formalities like in airport. No warm greetings, zero kindness. Room is large and nice. No amenties în the bathroom, the towels are tired. The wifi conections the worst from Mauritius. On the main pool from Riu Palace no free sun longe till 6.30 pm, crowded, with parasolars. The bech bars are more like a central train station bars, not a 5* hotel. If you want to received from beach bars a cuality beavregeas, you have to ask about it . For exemple, the boteled bear is not on the eays directions. The beach are nice, windy and no umbrels, just the tree. The main resturant buffe La Riviere is nice and the food is good, also the staff from dinner. The staf from during the day is not so nice. If the price is convenient for you, for a not fanncy 5* hotel, just standard as any hotel like that from all over the world, it will be ok. If you serach somthing special în a exotic island, Riu Palace is not your hotel. I leave hotel from the first day. The original reservation was for three nights.

Recently spent 11 nights at this newly refurbished hotel. After a long journey, we were quickly checked in & given an upgraded room with amazing views of the pool, beach & wonderful sunsets. Clean, spacious with a well stocked mini bar. (although we did have to contact reception 3 times one day before we got the promised daily water replenished) The hotel is slightly isolated from the rest of the island & is quite an expensive taxi ride away from civilisation, so perhaps bear this in mind when booking. Amazing beach, though it's often very windy, but as others have mentioned, a short walk to the right will take you to no wind whatsoever, perhaps too hot !! We found the food a little repetitive in the buffet, & at times did struggle to find something we fancied. A la carte restaurants, impossible to book via the app, needs looking at & sorting out pronto ! We did manage to eat in 3 of them however, booking at reception,the Steakhouse being by far the best of these. Asian was fine food wise, but the venue was in a soulless room which was freezing. Now, the Indian, chaos from the word go best sums it up ! Queues of people waiting outside,  all let in at once, mayhem. Buffet as a starter,  set menu for main, which when it eventually was served was bought to the table cold & virtually inedible !! Would expect much more from the Riu Palace brand ! Good selection of drinks, though towards the end of our stay bizarrely some products were unavailable,  poor stock management perhaps ? Big shout out to Guillaume at the Maravanne bar in the evenings. The best barman in the resort by far. Always service with a smile, remembering what our favourite drinks were & keeping us topped up whilst still being able to serve others at the same time. Would also like to mention the lads in the buffet restaurant in the evening, names we can't remember, but they were always smiling & joking with us & of course keeping us topped up with wine. Overall, we had a good time, but felt that some things could definitely be improved upon.

We had a lovely relaxing stay leaving on the 9th Nov. The hotel is very clean and the grounds lovely, as you would expect for a new hotel, no doubt when plants become more established will be even better! Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, USB charging point, kettle with tea and coffee and mini bar. The room was cleaned every day without fail, however the mini bar was a bit hit and miss (we only wanted some coffee and milk) missed us for 4 days. The beach as pointed out in other reviews is windy, but we found if you put your back to the wind it was fine, and the wind was quite refreshing,as there isn't a lot of shade available. We never any problems getting a sun bed. I would recommend swim shoes for the beach as the coral can be quite sharp. Again as others have mentioned if you walk just around the corner the wind dies and the sea is calm, but dont forget a towel to sit on. On the odd occasion we went to the pool, beds were not a problem however you are all on top of each other. We used Pepes most days for lunch and have no complaints about the food, the pool bar was always busy and a big shout out goes to Vish who always had a beer waiting for us when we went to lunch, thank you! We managed to book the Asian and Indian themed restaurants, both were superb. The Asian is a sharing menu, the Indian is a buffet starter, then main is brought to your table. I found booking using the app in the morning (0700ish) worked. The main restaurant food is very good, loads of choice, no grumbles. At night there was entertainment until 2130 at the lobby bar, singer, music, or DJ, the main entertainment was on stage in RIU Turquoise, right next door. We found you could sit by the bar outside of the Asian restaurant, which wasn't very busy, and watch the entertainment, Guillame looked after us here and kept the bar spotless, backed up by Avish, thanks guys for looking after us so well. We had a fantastic holiday at RIu Palace Mauritius, thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it special.
