We went to Bemugi's place for my 40th birthday adventure and it was a truly incredible experience! The road was an epic 4x4 adventure and we eventually arrived to the most gorgeous location on Santa Maria. The camp sites were superb, the rooms lovely, the beach was lovely. The cherry on top was the tropical pool area & barefoot restaurant. It was an honor to meet Bemugi & hear his life story. If there was any down side, it was that we didn't get to snorkel due to tides & weather (but will make sure we do that at our next visit!), and that the booking process is casual (but don't let that dissuade you as the service you get once you are there is outstanding!!) Thanks again so much to Bemugi, Hetta, Sipho and all the camp ladies for our unforgettable experience! We will definitely see you next time :)

We went to Bumugi's as a family, some camping and some staying in the chalets. The drive from the Maputo elephant park entrance is long and difficult, but very pretty. It took almost 5 hours. But Bumugis Place is beautiful, Hetta and Bumugi are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much trouble, and they are hands on owners. The chalet rooms are very comfortable ,and the breakfasts are a treat. Our guy, Sipho, was helpful and always on hand to help in any way. Our Kids loved the camping and having a camp lady who helped with cleaning was so appreciated. The pool area is delightful with a real tropical feel. I would highly recommend putting a Bumugi visit on your bucket list, we would definitely go again. The boat trip across the bay might be a quicker, better option.

We camped for two nights and had a wonderful stay! The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed the lovely pool area. We would definitely return. Thank you!

Unbelievable destination and hospitality! The 4 hour drive through the park was quite tough but the scenic views and wildlife made it worthwhile.

Could not have been better! We had a wonderful time. Had stopped here before on way to Machangulo and so glad we booked here for a week. Would have loved to have stayed longer!

Chalet was very quaint and decorated tastefully with a beautiful front garden in beach sand and a wooden walkway straight onto the beach. The restaurant followed the same tropical island theme and we had a wonderful dinner with our feet in the sand. Will definitely be back.

We just spent an awesome week at Bemugi's. An awesom place with great food,facilities and activities. Hetta your host goes out of their way to make your stay even better. Some of the three bed units could do with a bit of upgrade, but the new 2 bed units are awesome. A defenite reccomend!
