Palazzo Del Duca Hotel & Restaurant

WOW is what I’d like to say firstly. This hotel was incredible. One of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed. Beautiful, comfortable, fantastic location, great staff, attention to detail. And the rooms just are amazing. We had a fantastic stay to celebrate my 32nd Birthday and just had the best experience in Matera which the hotel was a large part of. Breakfast was delicious. We hope to return again in the near future and highly recommend it for any visit to Matera.

This was the highlight of our road trip in Puglia. The hotel is located in the old town and the setting is spectacular. Some of the rooms are a distance from the hotel but the staff looked after that and delivered our luggage. Take care about parking and talk to the hotel in advance about where you can leave your car - they will arrange for you to be brought from there to the hotel, although the parking is expensive. However, the food in the hotel is exquisite and the staff could not have been more helpful. The arranged a private walking tour of the old town for us which was just amazing. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour immensely. People will talk about the scenes from the latest James Bond movie that were shot in the town, but there is so much more to see.

We really enjoyed a family (6 people and a baby) here. We came a bit early for dinner but they accommodated us quite well. Great food. Good views. Excellent service. We ate here and did not stay here. Near a main plaza and a church. Highly recommend this place! VictorB

Suite 101, simply the best hotel room we've ever stayed in (and we've travelled a lot) We are wondering how we'll survive back at home without a jacuzzi! So nice to wander the streets and come back in the afternoon for a refreshing dip. The staff are so friendly and helpful too.

We loved our stay at Palazzo del Duca Matera. The location is perfect and has an incredible view across the ravine. The bed was big and comfy, the room was bright and luxurious. The staff really made our stay special, everyone was so kind and helpful. We felt welcomed and quietly pampered. The breakfast buffet is THE best we have ever had, with a huge variety of beautifully home-baked pastries and other items. Dinner was also outstanding. Each dish was unique and local and full of flavor, and the dining room is in a romantic and peaceful cave. My husband complimented me on finding this hotel.

Exceptional hotel experience! They combine a fabulous location in the historic center with outstanding customer service. The team of Giovanna, Betty, Angela and others were all so welcoming and helpful. We had a problem with our next hotel for the next day in another town and the Palazzo team worked so hard and diligently to find us a replacement. I was so impressed and grateful for their efforts! From the cold drink they offered on arrival to the superb dinner in their restaurant, everything was perfect! This is the best hotel experience!
