The location, close to Great Zimbabwe, is unbeatable. Staff was very helpful, especially in assisting us to arrange transportation from hotel to Masvingo and then to Bulawayo. Room has only bath tub but no shower. A shower may be more convenient for some.

My wife and I with friends of ours stayed over at the hotel for one night. The hotel is very close to the ruins. Since we had trailers, we stayed over at the camping area. The ablution facilities at the camping area were excellent; the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife and I went for dinner at the restaurant, which turned out to be a nightmare for me. The T-bone steak I got was tough; I had difficult chowing it. My wife's order some chicken dish which she enjoyed, but my stay at the hotel was ruined by the quality of the steak. I complained to the chef and some other staff, hopefully they have improved.

The service was exceptional. there is however roof for improvement on meal times and provision of insect repellants in restaurent.

Great Zimbabwe Hotel was offering a "Special Valentines Weekend Special". Came across it on their Facebook page and quickly made a reservation for accommodation and the romantic dinner. Our reservation was promptly done and confirmation sent via email. We traveled to Masvingo and check in was very swift. We were shown to our room and it was what we have have come to expect of the African Sun group. Clean, spacious, and elegant. They even added a fruit basket and chocolates as promised and all the amenities were working. The wifi was fast. My wife really liked the romantic dinner so that made the trip worthwhile. The food was delicious and in abundance. The staff were always on hand to make our stay more pleasant. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the pool because of the weather. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back for more.

Everything was up to standard except for the breakfast. The beacon was tasteless and hard like a biltong, difficult to chew.

Probably the best place to visit and explore Zimbabwe's rich heritage and the beautiful Kyle dam. We can only recommend. Hotel is very well maintained and rooms are great value for money.
