Avani Maseru Hotel

The hotel rooms are dated and in need of upgraded furniture, pillows and air conditioner. I experienced inefficient service.

We have stayed at Avani top and bottom Hotel for the past three years for the roof of Africa. The dinner at both hotels is really poor. Ordering from the menu is a huge problem and many selections are not available. Breakfast pastries are hard and don’t feel fresh. Only good was the flap jacks and omelettes. How can this standard prevail for three years

Manager was very rude and unfriendly also telling us the rules that were very impossible, the sharing of switchboard with their sister hotel was very bad since no one knew where you are calling from which hotel

The place is smart and the food supper good. Having stayed there during a conference where there were a lot of people, the level of organisation is very much commendable

I enjoyed my stay. The team was friendly even when there were busy with construction. The rooms were neat, clean towels and bed was provided.

On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and clean, the position is convenient, the view is nice, and some of the staff were friendly and professional. On the negative side, there are quite a few basics missing which one would not expect for the fact that its an international hotel chain, and the price. There is no fridge in the room, so the bottle water is tepid. There is no information or directory in the rooms. So I had to go down to reception to ask for the reception extension (!), and the room service extension. There is no room service menu, they just kind of tell you what they have available. I ordered the hake with lemon butter, because I had tried it at the other Avani in Maseru (Avani Lesotho). It wasnt bad, but the lemon butter was lemon margerine - yuk! Also had to queue 25 minutes at the check in desk which is too long in my opinion with just one staff member on duty.
