Wonderful accommodation in beautiful countryside - just 10 minutes from Greymouth - so much nicer than stopping in town! Wonderful warm welcome from Jolene and Andrew- they couldn’t do enough to make our stay special! Spotlessly clean and an amazing breakfast! Loved the warm lights in g to bathroom too! Kitchen well equipped and very comfortable bed. We loved the secret for forest hot tub! Would highly recommend!

Very comfortable accommodation. Snug and warm - fire, electric blanket. Light breakfast was included. Fruit provided. Nespresso machine, tea and hot chocolate. We were also pleasantly surprised that we had a smart tv so could stream our own Netflix account.

We loved our stay with Andy and Jolene at The Goldfield Suites. Exactly as described, we chose to stay here for its bush location and quiet adults only format. We especially enjoyed the barbecue meal which was very sociable, with wide ranging conversation and the opportunity to enjoy the dark sky location. Amazing stargazing!

Lovely place to stay! Clean room, quiet and peaceful grounds, and lovely hosts! We especially loved the hot tub experience - it felt like you were in the middle of the rainforest and was a perfect place to relax, especially if you are heading down the coast for some adventure!

We stayed here for one night and also had a beautiful and tasty bbq for dinner that the owners cooked for us. We arrived at about 6.30pm and had dinner served to us at 7. The room was large and very comfortable. It was clean and inviting. The bed was also comfortable. The owners have a passion for this place and that is reflected in the quality of our stay.

This is a special place. It is situated in a beautiful, natural setting and, although there are a few units on the property, they are arranged such that each is very private. We could look out our windows, or sit on the deck and see only nature and hear only Birdsong. The unit was immaculately clean and comfortable. Our host Jolene was extremely welcoming and accommodating. This was a great find and a wonderful place to stay. Thank you so much.

We spent two nights at the Goldfield Suites as part of a driving tour of the South Island. Andrew and Jolene were warm and welcoming hosts. Our suite was clean, comfortable, spacious, simply but nicely decorated, and well-equipped. Among other things, we appreciated the Nespresso coffee machine and coffee pods. We had signed up for dinner the night we arrived and enjoyed it so much we signed up for dinner again on our second night. Both the salmon on our first night and the slow-cooked beef on our second night were delicious and, as visiting Americans, we enjoyed the chance to talk with our hosts and guests from elsewhere in New Zealand over dinner. Overall this was a wonderfully relaxing place to stay and we would happily go back.

My daughter booked into this place for the day before new years eve, turned up and male owner refused her and her doctor partner their room because they had a two year old child. With no other accommodation available they had to drive, at 7.30pm, 4 hours on to Christchurch. I just booked on TripAdvisor and it allowed me to book with a child. I went to the Goldfields Suites official site and there is no mention of "no children." I mean, who has rules like "no children" for a start? In my opinion this is a disgrace, considering the time they arrived and the impossibility of booking anything else so close to new years, They could have made an exception in my opinion. Poor. Angry Grand father.

Goldfield Suites provided understated luxury in a beautiful, natural West Coast setting. Our one-bedroom bungalow was really well appointed - there clearly had been a lot of upgrading undertaken in the last 2 or 3 years. Andrew and Jolene made us feel really at home, and we enjoyed interacting with other guests over dinner. In a 3-week South Island holiday where we stayed at 9 different accommodations, this was definitely the pick of the bunch. Given the standard of accommodation provided, Goldfield Suites represented good value and we definitely recommend it.
