Phenomenal place to stay! Really clean, amazing staff, no complains at all. Would highly recommend. The location looks a bit shady and somewhat far away from the main sites.

What a fabulous place! I can’t speak highly enough of the comfort, cleanliness and friendliness of this riad. My daughter and I had a 4 day break here and loved every minute! We explored the city, enjoyed the foods and immersed ourselves in the trips . We booked our transfers to/from the airport directly with the riad, as we did with trips to the Atlas Mountains and the Agafay desert - Said is a wonderful driver and guide. The trip to the desert was in particular amazing - the view, the sunset and the food (such vast quantities!) was an absolute highlight. Everyone at the riad made us feel so welcome - from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile. The beds were particularly comfortable, the rooms were cool and the shower hot. Breakfast was delicious- pancakes, breads, fruit, honey and jams, washed down with fresh orange juice , tea and coffee. I really can’t recommend this place enough and thank everyone there for helping to make our holiday so memorable.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Riad Shaden. Such a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city, fabulous service, the most comfortable beds, we slept like logs! Breakfast was great, I am gluten free so they made me a delicious omelette every morning, my husband had a variety of breads and pancakes with jam and honey, cream cheese and fruit. The Riad is about half an hours walk from the main square, we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure into town, the sights and smells en route were very interesting, just make sure to walk on the right at all times! I would say the location is very traditional, but all the more charming as a result , extremely few tourists. All in all, we highly recommend a stay here and would love to return. I brought my daughter here for her first holiday abroad. She had an absolute ball, as did both of us. The staff are so friendly and helpful with everything and anything. Nothing seems too much for them at all. From booking taxis, for us, or excursions, absolute amazing experience. The ally way up to the riad is a little intimidating at first, but it is as safe as houses, would definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone.

If you’re looking for an authentic experience, then this is the place to stay. On booking, the riad quickly responds to communication via whatsapp and this allows you to ask any questions you may have. From living in the UK, it is quite a surprise on arrival but you soon get used to it all. The airport experience (arrival and departure) was a total nightmare, it took 3 hours of queueing. Our transfer dropped us at the nearest entrance which is a 5 minute walk away from the riad. This is a little overwhelming as you are thrown straight into the mix of local life. The streets are like wide allies with shops, mopeds and lots of people. Top tip, always walk around on the right hand side and stay tucked in. It really is dangerous when walking around as mopeds are constantly zooming past. With this in mind, it is a lovely gesture that the riad team welcome you at this point so that you know where to go etc. The final street of the riad was a little daunting at night as there were usually groups of teenagers around. We were however never threatened by anyone. Children regularly asked us for money and teenagers tried to sell ‘ash’. But we just said no thank and carried on walking - no problems. On entering the riad, we were welcomed with such warmth. The court yard truly is stunning and is a wonderful surprise on getting inside. We were sat down and offered tea and biscuits. We were then given a little information about the riad etc. The hotel tax for the week was £27. Our room was on the ground floor next to the entrance area and the court yard where breakfast is served. Sadly, we did not sleep well throughout our week stay. Being on the ground floor, you regularly heard water pipes and footsteps from upstairs. Other guests alarms also woke me up (often 5:30am when tripping). Breakfast tables being set up would also wake me. If I thought there was an opportunity to move rooms, I would have asked. I would not recommend staying if on the ground floor, it really was too noisy. I believe that we would have slept better on a higher floor. The room was pretty to look at, particularly the tiled walls. The room was very small and often had a sewage smell. It was however always cleaned daily and this service was fantastic. Clean towels each day with shower gels etc topped up. Our shower head didn’t move so my partner had to hold this for me for the duration. There was a hairdryer and dressing table. Storage was also good for clothes and cases. I wasn’t comfortable with the thought of not having our door locked with a key when out for the day, but on spending time there, I truly did not find this to be an issue. The court yard area for breakfast was stunning. The tables were so pretty. Breakfast tea, coffee and orange juice was lovely. Each day, there would be 2 types of bread and a pancake. Served with either a banana OR yogurt, and cheese spread and jam. If staying for a short break, this was great. If staying for longer, more variety would

We had a great stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed. The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel was quiet at night, with no street noise to disturb us. They even took the time to explain the map and directions, so we knew exactly how to get back. The camel ride in the Agafay desert was an amazing experience! However, the surrounding area was a bit rough, with dirty streets and unpleasant smells. Unfortunately, some locals tried to follow us and scam us, which took away from the experience. On a positive note, the airport transport arranged through EasyJet was comfortable.

The Riad Shaden is a Gem in the rough. The place is just as the pictures show and my bed was extremely comfortable. There was always plenty to eat for breakfast and enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice. The best thing I did was find them on Instagram and the communication before we arrived was very prompt. I booked the transfers from/ to the airport and so glad I did, Sayeed was outside the airport to meet us and even walked us right to the Riad, which alleviated the worry on finding the place. We were met with mint tea and Moroccan biscuits and given a detailed map on how to find the main Square. I booked a few activities through them. I would highly recommend the cooking class, it went from buying the produce in the market, making a three course meal and then the joy of eating it! So tasty. We also did the sunset meal at the Agafay desert and my Son had his first experience of riding a Camel. The meal was so plentiful we had to take some back with us for later. The place is within walking distance to all the main points of interest, if you have a good sense of direction (and maybe Google maps) you'll be fine. Had the best holiday made even better by the lovely staff of the super little Riad - Highly recommend.

It’s my fifth time in Marrakech and I always stay at Riad Shaden, all the staff and helpful and friendly . Booked a couple of trips through Said who was very helpful and informative I also recommend the airport pick up as it takes the strain away trying to arrive at the Riad . Rooms traditionall and cleaned every day, I would not hesitate to go back . George M

Had another wonderful stay at Riad Shaden. Very clean and comfortable room, that was cleaned daily. Staff are a credit to the riad. All so friendly and lovely looking after us during our stay. We done two trips with Siad that were extremely informative and enjoyable. I would recommend getting the airport pick up to the riad.

The rooms were comfortable and traditionally decorated. Imad and Mohamed were very welcoming and nothing was too much effort. We booked excursions through the hotel to the Atlas Mountains and a traditional Moroccan night with camel riding. These cost a bit more but we had a personal transfer and weren’t hassled for extras. A very nice, clean, reasonably priced option.
