We spent seven nights at Riad Marwar and had a fantastic time! Our room was on the top floor and was very comfortable whilst the whole riad was spotlessly clean. The staff team were all very friendly & welcoming - nothing seemed too much trouble for them. There is a nice area for dining with a comfortable lounge area next to it. There is a balcony and a roof terrace at the top. The riad is located within the narrow streets of the Medina so cars cannot go right up to the door, but our transfer from the airport was pre-booked and we were met from the street and escorted to the riad. We were welcomed with tea and whilst we waited for our room to be ready, Norredine (the owner) discussed our plans for the week, gave us some advice and showed us the tours on offer - although he was happy to answer questions and give advice, there was never any pressure to book. We did book several tours and all of them were great and not expensive. Breakfast was excellent; tea/coffee with pancakes & pastries. Evening meals were also great with home cooked tajines or skewers. The location is perfect, just five minutes walk to the square where you can find cheap & cheerful cafes, the entrance to the souks and you can pick up taxis easily. You can walk to the secret garden and Dar El Bacha within 10 minutes, Madrasa Ben Youssef and Jemaa el-Fnaa within 20. Jardin Majorelle (you need to book in advance) is within a 20 minute walk but you have to cross two very busy roads and a taxi may be a better option. The Saadian Tombs, and El Badi & Bahia palaces could be walked within 30 minutes or are a 10 minute taxi ride away.
