BV Borgo Del Principe

A beautiful site and location - if a little remote. Food absolutely exquisite. BUT be warned this is NOT an all inclusive resort. Beer and wine is only available on an all inclusive package during lunch and evening mealtimes (a total of three hours a day) bottled water is unavailable in the morning. Tea is only available during breakfast hours. Hot plates are not available for breakfast after 9am. Individually the staff are mainly lovely but the restaurant manager appears to terrify and intimidate the staff and is very rude to the customers who do not tip him. There are no free ice creams or sugar free drinks available in the package either (except water) .This is proving a VERY expensive and disappointing ALL INCLUSIVE holiday. Having said that, the setting and grounds and the beach are stunning

Borgo del Principe is a lovely garden village hotel. Most of the rooms are located within separate 4-room buildings scattered around the grounds. All of them are above sea level and located in a lush garden, so there is no sea view. There are plenty of birds chirping away though! The hotel has its own beach with free sunloungers and umbrellas, as well as a small pool, which is open when the lifeguard is on duty. There are more sunloungers by the pool. The staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, a special shout out to the cleaning staff who are super hard working and always willing to help! Most of the staff doesn't speak much English (they try though!), but that is probably because the hotel caters to guests from all over Europe, so I bet they do speak German and French etc :) If you need to have a conversation in English, find Bianca on the front desk, she's great and will definitely help!!! The food at the hotel is exquisite, I loved the evening meals, there was plenty to choose from every night, and the menu changed constantly. If you like Italian cuisine, this is the place to visit! Lunches were also great, we always left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Breakfasts offered similar choice every morning, but we were happy with salami and cheese sandwiches, tomatoes and mozzarella aplenty, a wide variety of pastries and cakes, and of course Italian coffee. I miss all this food already. The only thing that's not so great about Borgo del Principe is the hotel's location in a small town of Zambrone, which doesn't really have a strip to walk on or any shops apart from a lovely gelateria and a local grocery shop around a 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel. But if your aim is to spend a week on a beach or by the pool interspersed with delicious food, then you're good to go!

The accomodation is in beautiful garden, the staff is helpful, all inclusive does not match - no ice cream, dessert only for dinnet, no prosciuto, for breakfast 2 types of salami and 1 type of cheese (still the same). No shops nearby. The station in Zambrone is about 2 km away, uphill. In the heat og 35 degrees we graduated to Tropea only 1 time. The train leaves in the morning at 7 o' clock and the next at 12 o 'clock. The breakfast is only untill9:00 a.m.

We booked with Tui & on arrival at the airport, the rep advised that our chosen hotel was closed & that Borgo was our destination. This was not the best start but on arrival the surroundings were very lovely. On checking in, it became clear that Borgo is intended for German clients - all of the information in reception is in German. The very blunt receptionist gave us very little information about the hotel so we expected to find this in our room - but no, we returned to ask a series of questions that you would expect were reasonable. Q. What times are meals served? A. The information is on the notice board. Q. But it’s in German Receptionist rolls her eyes and tells us the meal times. Q. What time is the entertainment? A. The entertainment arrives later. Q. What time does it take place? A. We don’t know. Q. Is there entertainment this evening? A. No, tonight is Champions League. After visiting the pool we realised there were no towels so I visited reception again Q. How do we get pool towels please? A. You pay 20 euros for each towel. Q. Can I change them each day? A. No, only once per week. Q. Why didn’t you mention the pool towels when I checked in? A. You did not ask. The restaurant staff were lovely and welcoming and helpful however the reception staff - 2 ladies particularly - were unhelpful and seemed to resent our presence. We used the Tui app to explain how disappointed we were to arrive without any prior warning that our chosen hotel was closed. 48 hours later were offered a move to Tui Magic Life resort just up the road. When we tried to check out a female receptionist was again obstructive, insisting we explain why we wanted to leave. On arrival at Tui Magic Life, we instantly loved it and we were able to forget about Borgo and I would recommend anyone else wishing to stay there to do the same.

Ogni qualvolta lasciamo il borgo del principe,la tristezza incombe!!x noi è stato il 4 anno consecutivo qui!!!ormai è come sentirsi a casa!!!ci hanno assegnato la stessa stanza dell’anno scorso e sono stata felice!!che dire il cibo ottimo,per non parlare della colazione..mi mancano molto quei muffin…devo fare i miei complimenti al pasticciere xke fa davvero dei dolci squisiti,anche quelli proposti la sera!!!!gli chef sempre gentili e disponibili..anche le ragazze della reception Simona e Rosy..grazie mille x tutto!!!per fortuna il tempo è stato bello,il mare di meno al nostro arrivo un po’ agitato,e domenica quando siamo andati via purtroppo pioveva e Mare agitatissimo..peccato!!!!quest’anno l’animazione era composta da tutti ragazzi bravissimi e molto in gamba..che davano il meglio di loro per coinvolgere noi villeggianti..sempre senza insistenza e invadenza!!!grazie ancora e chissà ci rivedremo l’anno prox!!!

Siamo rientrati ieri da questo villaggio . Struttura immersa nel verde ben curata , camere molto grandi unica pecca non ci sono prese accanto al letto x caricare un cellulare , ristorante si mangia bene anche x chi come me mangia senza glutine . Direttore Andrea molto presente e se si chiede qualcosa sempre disponibile e cerca sempre di accontentare il cliente . Animazione presente molto adatta x i bambini mia figlia è rimasta contentissima ringrazio di cuore a tutti i ragazzi Mattia Marco Marianna Simone Emanuele Dalila Clara e Noemi .. Un ringraziamento va anche alle signore delle pulizie sempre gentili . Unico neo bagnino più presente sia di mattina che di pomeriggio . Grazie di cuore a tutti
