Prideau's of Margaret River

There are plenty of places to stay in Margs. Save yourselves some time and stay anywhere else. If you really can't find any, I'm sure you can find a sleeping bag at one of the camp stores and camp outside Woolies for a night until a room somewhere frees up. Or.... just don't go to Margaret River at all! Prideaus were fine the first time. The room had no issues so we had nothing to complain about. So we decided to return for our next trip to Margs. Boy was that a mistake. This time it was fully booked and you could totally hear everything in the rooms next door. And I mean eeeevverything. They also clearly do not know how to clean their spas, so I'd lose that as a value point. Alas, the interesting stuff. After a long drive we check in, straight to the loo which was Wobbly. I alerted this to David, manager, owner, whatever he is, who immediately developed an accusatory tone with me implying we broke it as the previous client was a rEgULaR. After some push, he agreed to have a plumber come out, who didn't fix it and developed some rhetoric about it being perfectly fine. For over $300 per night we were not happy as it meant we had to use facilities elsewhere. David said he was happy to credit us $300 which was not done in the end as we were told we overreacted and instead should have been BILLED for the toilet's wear & tear??? He then proceeded to express how untidy the room was throughout our stay, which I found very amusing as not only was the room left in a considerate state on check out (I worked in hospitality), but we had our Do Not Disturb sign purposefully affixed to the gate one day as we knew the room was untidy and did not want housekeeping going in to service the room. When I asserted this with David, he called me and my wife a pair of pigs. Charming!

Great position within walking distance of town with plenty of shops and restaurants. However, room was quiet, clean, warm and comfortable and we enjoyed having our own little ground floor patio to sit out in despite the often chilly early spring weather. All staff friendly and helpful. Didn't avail ourselves of the spa bath and we were not confident of being able to get in and out of it! We were celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary! Shower ok though. We were able to make our own breakfasts with a toaster, microwave and fridge. A good centre for travelling around the area. Onsite laundry facilities were very useful as we had travelled from Dubai and then Perth and were in Margaret River for 10 days. Lots of lovely places to visit and scenery beautiful in the spring.

Dear Owners David and Sandy, I just thought I would share about the exceptional experience I had staying at Prideau’s of Margaret River. Julia could not have been a better host as I just completed a dream weekend. All my needs were met (in fact exceeded!) She gets all the credit for making this a stay I’ll never forget. Again, we enjoyed our stay in this modern, clean and comfy apartment. We like the private patio, plus the fully enclosed verandah, ( where we noted a heater for winter). This time, as we tried to leave, our car wouldn't start; new battery needed. We appreciated the help we received from Pridaux management; very grateful.

Stayed 4 nights which was at least 2 too many. Bed was extremely comfortable, it’s close to town and we had a designated parking space. Unfortunately these are the only positives. The room we stayed in is well over due a refurb. Stained toilet and bath, chipped furniture and generally has a down at heel feel. On a tour of WA this is definitely bottom of our list of accommodation, despite having the highest nightly rate. Wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid.
