Sarova Mara Game Camp

Our stay at this luxury safari lodge in Masai Mara was nothing short of exceptional. The location is breathtaking—nestled in the reserve, it offers unparalleled access to game drives, where we encountered lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and zebras in their natural habitat. The lodge itself is a haven of comfort and elegance, featuring plush beds, a decadent spa, and a heated swimming pool where we could unwind while overlooking the sweeping Mara landscape. The dining experience was a delight, with delicious dishes that brought out the best in local flavors. The staff made our stay truly unforgettable with their warmth and hospitality, always going the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed. Special thanks to Solomon, Joseph, Brian, and Pariken, who made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Their kindness and knowledge added so much to our experience. In every way, this lodge epitomizes luxury safari living. For anyone seeking an immersive, relaxing, and memorable stay in the Masai Mara, we can’t recommend it highly enough. We left feeling rejuvenated and with memories that will last a lifetime.

I am writing this review one year later but here goes. Mara Sarova is extremely special to me because I celebrated my 30th birthday here. Not only was the Camp stunning and so well maintained but the staff went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable and to make my special day memorable. I want to take the time to thank a few members of the hospitality team that I do remember Douglas- the chef, was so warm and always ensured that I got an Indian dish to eat with all my meals and I have to add that they were delicious. Damaris, was so wonderful and attended to me every time I stepped out for a meal or a snack, always ensuring that I left satisfied. I stayed in the gorgeous camp room and it undoubtedly was one of the best experiences since it is within the reserve and you can often hear animals in the night. The room service staff were also extremely courteous and thoughtful. Overall such a great experience. I would 10/10 recommend Mara Sarova to anyone travelling to Masai Mara and I certainly hope to go back someday.

The Sarova Mara Game camp is amazing, do not wait to come!! Henry made planning so easy, Alex from housekeeping had our family tent perfect for us each day, and our safari guide Pius gave us the best experience ever!! We enjoyed the food, there are so many options, and the Mara warriors came a provided a beautiful cultural dance. On top of it, we saw lions, cheetahs, a leopard, giraffes, elephants, hippos, zebras…. The list goes on :)

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was good on each night and we were only there for 2 nights. A special thank you to Grace for making my birthday special by surprising me with a cake. thank you so much you made my day. Felt like we were staying in a jungle as we could hear the monkeys and birds. Amazing experience and we loved it. I would definitely recommend this camp. Thank you to all the staff for your service.

Sarova Mara Camp is one phenomenal camp. Luxury tents fitted with sizable beds and all round canvas. Their bar section is cozy with a variety of drinks to choose from. Their meals are buffet style which is pretty fine. The camp is inside the park so, game drives are easily accessible anytime of the day. Good good camp.

Our experience at Sarova Mara cannot really be fully described in words or pictures. As part of our honeymoon trip we spent three nights on camp in a Club Tent. From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice, the staff were as happy for us to arrive as we were to get there after our drive from Nairobi! Throughout the whole trip every single team member on camp went out of their way to help us when needed. Every one says hello as you pass them around the camp which creates such a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We were lucky enough to become close over our stay with a number of staff members such as Jack our housekeeper, as well as Kennedy, Grace, Caroline and James from the Club restaurant… and many more too! Kai was great around the camp to help us make the most of the activities and games at Sarova Mara, where we did catch and release fishing and spent time having a UK vs Kenya pool tournament! The food in the buffet restaurant as well as the Club restaurant was brilliant and we looked forward to every meal knowing the food and service was going to be perfect. Special extra mention to Anthony and the chefs and security who put on an unforgettable champagne bush breakfast for us… it was so much more than we expected but we are both so thankful. We were both so sad to leave the camp at the end of our stay, wishing we could have stayed even longer. Before we arrived we were not sure how time on camp would be when we weren’t out on game drives but reflecting now it was as much about our time in Sarova camp as it was out on the plains that made it special! Already looking forward to returning one day to the Mara, where we will 100% stay at Sarova again! Lewis and Claudia
