Koala Cabins Mapleton

Me and my partner recently stayed in a rainforest cabin which on the website it was described as: "Rainforest cabins allow for maximum privacy, located deep in the rainforest and separate from other rainforest cabins." This was far from the truth and so misleading it's disgusting! We expected to have a private cabin away from other cabins in a secluded part of their rainforest, instead we had a cabin that was about 4 metres "separate" from ours. It wasn't private at all, unless you consider private sitting in your cabin with your curtains closed. Not romantic at all considering we could hear the next couple across from ours. And "deep into our rainforest" what a pile! As for the service, we were greeted with a careless bothered tone, and then told to fill out a form, explained where we go to find our room and then that was it, no "we hope you have a nice stay" or something more accommodating, we weren't happily greeted, we just felt like a pain in a way.. I guess we weren't the only ones who got this unwelcoming welcome. The cabins themselves are cute and cosy, but if your expecting a private and romantic experience then I wouldn't recommend the rainforest cabins.

My husband and I wish to thank Ann and the team for a very special anniversay stay, the peace and tranquility was just what was needed. To be able to lay back and look out at the trees with the fire burning in the fireplace (no really it was a bit chilly one day) and listen to the birds, I just don't have enough words to describe how beautiful it is. The spa was an added bonus to a relaxing stay, we didn't do the walking trail, maybe next year for our 6th Anniversay we will do the walk and then have a spa bath. Loved the cosy feel,had everything we needed. 5 mums had a great relaxing time. Thankyou we are hoping to come back. Had coffee tea sugar milk. Plus big bowls, platters etc. For our pickies. Nice clean house.

It was a private retreat in the rainforest, We enjoyed our stay in a rainforest cabin. It was a little bit run down and could do with a little bit more tlc but over all we liked it. I think lily pond needs a pump to stop the water being stagnant. Reception also needs some attending to as first impression do count.

Tanglewood was easy to find and rooms hidden away amongst the trees. We were looking forward to the pool and spa - that's what sold the place for us rather then do a beach stay however sadly the pool was really dirty. I think it's mainly all the trees and landscaping not maintained that means a lot of dirt and leaves end up in the water. Didn't notice anyone cleaning it. The spa was sort of the same, lots of little floaties and dead flies which was a shame. The place has great potential just in need of a good clean. There were odd metal frames in the spa which took up half the room. I think they are meant to be chairs but quite uncomfortable and they would benefit from removing them. The room we were in, I was pleasantly surprised. From other reviews and photos it's clear this place is dated but our room was nice and clean. Had everything washer/dryer and toiletries in the bathroom. We loved the big bbq and outdoor setting. Lounge room was big and beds ok. Plenty of room for the family. The surrounds were nice and it was something different a nice little getaway from the city.

Great little cabin for us to stay in for the weekend while attending a wedding nearby. It was clean and cosy and we felt like we were hidden away in the rainforest for a little weekend retreat. Will definitely return for a longer getaway next time!

I booked the accommodation to escape time from work and stayed for 2 nights. The place was very quiet and surrounding with natural forest and birds song that very impressed. Best service and fast respons from property manager/owner. Room very clean and close to activity nearby and surrounding with tropical forest at property. We will be back again. Nearby activities 2 minutes drive to nearby shop and flaxton garden for good breakfast. Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value.

Lovely presented cabin, clean, spacious and comfortable. Beautiful views. The host personally introduced himself and made me feel very welcome and even presented me with a free coffee table book. The location is conveniently close to Monteville and just a short walk into Mapleton. Would definitely stay again.

14 of us spent 5 days in mostly silent meditation during our recent annual 'retreat', this time at Koala Cabins Mapleton, formerly Mapleton Clouds. Some of us accommodated in the 'farm house', some in cabins and some in family units. The bedding was comfortable and the rooms well appointed and clean. We used the small conference centre with the attached kitchen for all communal activities and this worked very well. Gary, the brand-new owner for just one week, could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and he attended to all our needs very promptly. We enjoyed it so much that we have already booked for next year! Koala Cabins is also a very suitable and quiet venue to use as a base to explore the beautiful Blackall Range region on the Sunny Coast hinterland. My only complaint is that I did not catch sight of a koala high up in the Eucalyptus trees! Maybe next-time!
