We were concerned when we read the reviews with 1 star and confused by they were all 1 or 5, nothing in between. Would probably say more a 3 than a 4. Sand in pool and hot tub, windows not cleaned. Needs a spruce up but the room was fine (with the exception of garbage not completely dumped). Bar was uneventful but the bartender who we believe to be the manager was very helpful with restaurant suggestions

First the amazing! The location was fabulous! Our room overlooked the bay with a great view from our window. Watched the Badger depart, walked both breakwaters out to the lighthouse/marker. The bed was comfortable, the shower good, although older. Now the less than amazing… the toilet overflowed!!! The door stuck on opening needing an extra jimmy to get in. The bar was a convention room that had a bar and pool table added. The continental breakfast was all continental, nothing warm and no place to sit, no tables just the sofa in the lobby. The TV was playing morning wrestling? Overall we would stay again if passing through, the walk along the bay and location made up for the older not quite renovated facility.

Not worth the price. Breakfast was mediocre, cold cereal - most days without milk. No decent tables for eating. You need to request clean towels or room cleaning. Never told this at check-in. Stayed at lower cost motels with better amenities.

*D-Day was on one of the days we were staying. General Manager Pat came into the lobby and noticed a group, seemed to be a family. She went over to an older gentleman in this group who was wearing his military uniform. The respect she showed him, the words she said, were just lovely. *The Inn is located on the shores of Lake Michigan so there are beautiful views from the room's windows as well as a paved path along the lake. The hotel and our room were clean. Free coffee was available 24/7 in the lobby as well as a K-cup type coffee maker in the room. Staff was friendly and responsive. *The hotel is close to attractions downtown Manitowoc. While we were there, we went to MetroJam at Washington Park and a cycling race through nearby streets.

I had almost lost all faith in Choice Hotels. But this hotel was wonderful. Very clean and fresh. Front desk workers were great. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was very light. And the eating area was down a long hall. Outdoor seating was nice. Close to Maritime Museum and right on Lake Michigan. Safe location.

Stayed at this hotel several years back but since then it has gone through an ownership change and make over. The make over is very well done! The only negative was the windows need replacing as ours were cloudy in places diminishing the beautiful views of Lake Michigan. The room was clean and nice as well as the lobby and meeting areas. A huge shout out to the staff!! The front desk girl we reserved through and registered with was extremely helpful as well as the housekeeper we met. There was an event at the hotel while we were there so their bar was open which was nice. Apparently the bar is only open for events. Heard from others as well as people in our group drink prices seemed to change round to round? Overall very nice and we definitely would return.

Generally speaking it is a good building in a good location. The layout of the room is excellent with the bed located in its own little room with its own air conditioner separate from the rest of the room. The bathroom had two sinks so we each had our area to get ready in the morning. Overall the interior was clean. Two things kept me from giving it five stars. First while there was allegedly a hotel bar the staff could not tell me when it would be open. Breakfast was a small selection of toasts and cereal in the lobby. Compared to most other hotels in this price range it is sub standard not to offer a basic breakfast and a place to get a drink. Second the place sits right on the shore of Lake Michigan. We paid extra for a room with a lake view. The windows are small, oddly placed and dirty on the outside. Don’t pay more for the lake view, just go outside.

Don't stay here. The Inn at Maritime Bay is not accredited by the Better Buiness Bureau of Wisconsin, and I can see why. I want to cancel my reservation because SS Badger Lake Michigan car ferry suspended service for the rest of 2023 due to a mechanical failure. The SS Badger, and Best Western at Ludington MI gave me a refund, but the Inn at Maritime Bay refuses to refund my money, and will only reschedule my stay. The ferry was the main thing I wanted to do on this vacation, so I wouldn't reschedule until next summer. No refund means I can't spend that money on a different vacation this year. I have tried to talk to a manager, but staff have said the no refund policy is clear, so the manager will not speak with me. I have a forced staycation this year thanks to Inn at Maritime Bay. Don't make the mistake of risking your vacation on this place.

Nice, clean hotel with a great location. It appears that it is the process of being remodeled, nice refresh. The grounds are very nice with walking trail on Lake Michigan. The staff was very nice and helpful. I look forward to a return visit and will stay at this hotel again.
