Went here for my birthday just to get away for a couple of days and so glad I did! I had never been to Manchester before, but the location made it so easy - it’s only 10/15 mins away from Manchester Piccadilly, and the street has lots of fantastic bars. The staff couldn’t be more pleasant, and the leisure area was fantastic with great amenities such as the pool, sauna and unlimited towels. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a comfier bed before!

First time at the Midland, stayed 1 night and it was a very nice stay. Room didn’t have a view but it was only one night so not too bothered. Shower was decent, everywhere clean and bed was very comfortable. We paid for breakfast too and plenty of choice available and again very nice and filled us up for the day. Overall a brilliant stay

We absolutely loved the experience and they really went well and beyond their duty to make surewe had a comfortable and a lovely stay, will recommend and their breakfast is so worth it!! And wont mind staying there again!

I recently stayed at the Midland Hotel in Manchester, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected from such a well-known establishment. The service was lacking, and the room had several maintenance issues that significantly impacted my stay. First off, the room itself had a broken overhead bed lamp. Additionally, the shower cubicle had a broken sliding door, which was not only inconvenient but also created a safety hazard. It's frustrating to stay in a hotel that doesn't pay attention to these basic maintenance issues, especially when you’re paying for a higher standard of accommodation. To make matters worse, we ordered an ice bucket to the room, which took 45 minutes to arrive — only for it to be filled with melted ice. When we asked for a replacement, it took another 30 minutes to get a fresh bucket. This delay, combined with the poor quality of service, left a bad impression. Moreover, I was shocked to discover that basic amenities such as a dental kit and shower cap were charged at an additional £3 each. For a hotel of this reputation, I did not expect to pay extra for these essentials, which should be standard in any suite. What was particularly disappointing was the complete lack of personalization during my stay. I had booked the suite to celebrate my birthday, but there was no acknowledgment or special gesture from the hotel, which made the experience feel impersonal and underwhelming. While the location of the hotel is great, the poor service, lack of maintenance, additional charges for basic amenities, and the absence of any special touches for my birthday were major letdowns. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected much more attention to detail and a higher level of comfort. I hope the management addresses these issues, as it has the potential to be a great stay with the right improvements.

I like how the room and location is. Nonetheless, the concierge/reception area that checks you in will determine the 1st impression. The staffs at the front desk aren’t that friendly and they do give me an attitude (in a bad way). It was until the next morning , when I was checking out that I felt that the front desk manager was really very helpful and warm with customers. It’s a shame that the first impression is not what I’ve expected. The breakfast spread is comprehensive. Atmosphere is also set to be English. I like the cultural aspect. Room is comfortable. I’ll definitely stay there again but less the unfriendly staff at the front desk.

This hotel is at the right location. Closeby to all the amazing spots. Staff was the sweetest, to be precise the blond short hair lady she is the best. Spa was relaxing and right on the spot! Busy weekend but staff came through!

Brilliant hotel , great spa, beautiful breakfast and friendly staff

Service was poor. Room was too hot. Had to change. No trolley provided. Hospitality was disorganised and unprofessional. It seems staff at this hotel are unaware how to look after paying guests and have little interest in comfort or service for families and wedding groups. Booking system was disorganised and arranging connecting rooms was impossible for our group, including small children. This hotel needs to make big improvements to achieve some real hospitality and care for its guests.

We stayed in Manchester for the weekend and The Midland was in a perfect spot for exploring the city. Both nights we stayed at the Midland there were wedding parties being hosted there, unfortunately this led to not having the best sleep as there was regularly noise coming from other rooms, but when we called reception they did their best to help. In the morning the staff were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make it up to us and said they usually are able to keep the bigger parties staying in the same area so this does not happen. Lovely hotel, lovely staff, great location!

Fantastic hotel in the centre of Manchester, very clean, gorgeous room, delicious breakfast and the staff are lovely couldn’t ask for anything else. We will definitely be staying again.
