Thurston House

Our stay at The Thurston House was a wonderful, charming, comfortable and peaceful place to be on our anniversary trip. The Hirsch room was clean, cozy and well maintained. It had its own thermostat to set the temperature to our liking, a TV with streaming services and good WiFi for our devices. The attached bathroom was unique and a good size for two people. Also in the bathroom is a closet with hangers, robes, full size ironing board and iron. The home itself is full of history and has many places to relax inside and out. The small lake in front with a walking path makes for a great place to be outside and enjoy the scenery. The amazing breakfast provided every morning is a great way to start the day. The host and owner Bev uses fresh ingredients and is very attentive to any dietary needs. She herself is the shining beacon that makes your stay all the better. Her warm hospitality and willingness to meet your needs makes you feel like such an exclusive guest in her own home. Having stayed at several hotels, not needing to pay extra for parking or a separate resort fee is a huge plus, on top of breakfast being included, the value you get for the price of the room is hard to beat. We can’t recommend this place enough and would definitely return to The Thurston House whenever we make our way back to central Florida.

The Thurston House is a homey and lovely B&B. Feels like going home to be spoiled. The three course breakfasts are delicious. The rooms are nicely decorated and very quiet. There are several screened porches for relaxation. The gardens are a delight. The owner is very friendly and recommended the boat tour. The boat tour is fun. All in all a great place to stay! I recommend visiting the Charleston Hoser Morse Museum. The largest Tiffany collection anywhere

The 1885 Thurston House was everything we wanted for our Anniversary weekend. The location to downtown Winter Park and the Hillstone restaurant was perfect. Easy access to our must see list. The rooms were beautiful, inviting, very clean and so comfortable. I especially enjoyed taking a nap on the porch hammock! The food was prepared by Beverly. Each morning was something new and delicious. The owner, Beverly was delightful. She greeted us at the door, gave us a quick tour and answered all our questions. We enjoyed conversations with guests and Beverly - and we enjoyed our quiet time on the lawn swing and porch rockers. Will definitely return. 5 star +++
