My brother and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week trip around Spain and Portugal. When choosing this hotel I decided to splurge a little bit and it ended up being a great decision. The property is located in a historic building right next to the Sevilla metro station which wasn't a coincidence when searching for a place. Inside the lobby there are comfortable couches, cold and hot water, a coffee machine, and an internet area. All around you are bars, cafes, restaurants, and Gran Via is a short walk away. This puts you right in the middle of the action. For example Puerta del Sol is about an 8 minute walk. The Palacio de Cibeles is a 10 minute walk. The staff was friendly and to our delight our room was actually ready hours early. This meant that instead of dropping off our bags after a long train ride we were able to recharge our batteries, grab a shower and a coffee before heading out. The beds were amongst the most comfortable of any hotel I've stayed in and my request for extra pillows was granted. We booked a triple room so our beds wouldn't touch... they were separated by the door. The only downside to this was my brother had absolutely nowhere to put his stuff. We moved a small night stand over to his side however, and we were able to slide our luggage under the beds. The bathroom was a decent size for Europe with very hot water and spray jets in the shower. This made for a few mini massages after a long day of exploring. The wifi worked pretty good with no issues with connectivity. Air conditioning was great as you could set it fairly low as you liked. (I like my room cold at night) There's a small mini fridge where you can throw some drinks in. The view outside our room was spectacular. If you take the elevator as high as it will go you can walk up some stairs to a window with a great view of the Palacio de Cibeles and beyond. Great at twilight. The breakfast area was located in a scenic setting on the 5th floor of the building. Eggs, Iberian ham, chorizo, sausages, pastries, cheeses, olives, torte, as well as continental fare like croissants, breads, cereals, juices, and coffee. It was very good and we lingered around over coffee more often than not. If you're considering booking this hotel I strongly suggest adding breakfast. The elevator is small and holds two people but works fine otherwise. (plus there are two of them) We kept walking past it as it kind of blended into the wall on our floor. On our last morning here my brother and I joked that we were looking forward to seeing more of Spain but wish we could take the hotel with us. I'll be back one day and look forward to another great visit at Petit Palace Alcala!
