The hotel is in a lovely location and just a short walk to St Annes town centre. Booked an overnight stay with breakfast. On arrival it wasn’t clear where reception was, as you enter into the bar area. On the corner of the bar was a terminal where you self-checked in, including activating room card(s). No one greeted us or advised where our room was. We used common sense and went in search of the stairs/lift. We found our room on the second floor. On entering it was very cold. There was a radiator in the room, but was set at the “frost” setting. There was no telephone in the room, nor any details of how to contact reception. There was an electric towel rail in the en-suite. So we turned this on and left the door open in order to get some heat from the en-suite to the bedroom. Similarly we increased the setting on the bedroom radiator. The bedroom radiator did not heat up for some time, so can only assume it is on a central timer. Bedroom was clean We went out for evening meal, so cannot comment on the food. In the morning we came down for breakfast and saw that the usual toasting machine, perculator coffee machine, lots of tea bag choice. Various pastries and a self serve pancake making machine. It wasn’t clear if cooked breakfast was included in the B&B price. So I sort out a member of staff who confirmed it was and took our order. Check out was once again self serve by the same terminal as check-in. So if we hadn’t asked about breakfast, our whole stay would have had no human contact whatsoever. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would welcome more of a human touch.
