I’ve visited the Feathers hotel many times over the years and have enjoyed the setting. I decided to go for a light lunch as I knew that they did gluten free options there. Whilst my daughter’s sandwiches looked quite appetising at £13 for a fish finger sandwich, my gluten free egg sandwich was extremely disappointing at £10!! I’m aware that the gluten free loaves are often small but with such little filling, it was disappointing. I did mention it to a member of staff, but they really didn’t seem bothered. I also asked if the chips were gluten free and cooked in a separate fryer to be told that “it’s fine as the hot oil gets rid of gluten” (which it doesn’t). The staff really need more training with regards to food allergies! All staff looked as if they really didn’t want to be there (apart from one lady who was friendly). I won’t be rushing back.

Third time we have stayed at the Feathers .. another nice stay and this time we tried dinner on the Friday evening - delicious , Sunday lunch which was excellent and breakfast on Monday morning which was ok .. all the staff we met were helpful and friendly and we stayed in one of the very spacious and quiet suites . Unfortunately we had a few housekeeping issues this time , but they were addressed at the time and head of housekeeping was very apologetic that we had to have the bed remade due to marks on the sheet ( they were clean just marked ) .. housekeeping needs a bit of a reminder that little things like replenishing the toilet rolls , water glasses and emptying the bathroom bin goes a long way .. the only other little gripe is that when paying a premium rate to stay in one of the suites you are still required to pay for parking .

The facade and the public area's are beautiful and the restaurant is elegantly decorated. Our bedroom was disappointingly small - I could barely walk down one side of the bed. There was nowhere to store suitcases/bags so we had to leave it behind the door to allow room to move around. The bathroom was excellent - modern, clean with good facilities. The reception staff were reluctant to help when I needed to borrow a scissors to cut plaster strips for first aid use. That beggared belief somewhat. Didn't eat in the restaurant but I had tried the bar menu on a prior visit to Ludlow and the food was very good. Would visit again.

We only ate in the restaurant but the service was brill , I had the coronation chicken which was amazing and would definitely recommend it . Followed by the cheesecake which again was lovely it wasn't too sweet etc . Will definitely be eating here again . We ate quick early in the evening when it was quieter so we didn't have to wait long for our food

I have been undertaking my own personal best roast in Ludlow poll, and today the Feathers went straight to the top. What a magnificent roast dinner it was so tasty and the chefs horse radish mouse was incredible. The staff were friendly and polite and the chef came and said hallo… we have now decided to have Christmas dinner here however I am sure we will return before then , if you like a roast then this is a must. Parking at the rear .

The room was huge, with a very large bathroom and shower. There was even a balcony, although we didn't use it as the furniture was stained and it overlooked the carpark. The carpark was very useful but the disabled spaces could have been wider as they were just the same size as the other spaces. The staff were universally helpful and the food was excellent, both the evening meal and the breakfast. We had the fish and chips in the evening and eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Lovely old place staff friendly Asked if there was a lift as stairs are a problem Yes was the reply what they didn’t tell you is that after the lift there’s countless corridors & extra stairs leading to a flight of stairs about 15 steps The place has loads of fireplaces but the fire in reception was only lit once a day so the place was cold We upgraded to a better room but it was really cold one small radiator behind the curtain wasn’t enough The bed was comfy but the duvet only fit the top so when you got in you had to sleep in the middle to get covered The food was lovely service very slow

Well situated for the centre of Ludlow with a car park at the rear and an outside terrace. This historic hotel offers charm and culture built in 1619 of Tudor architecture The central entrance contains a porch with pillars and consoles supporting the 1st floor balcony.The studded plank door is the original and the ground floor room to right of entrance has panelling, a mantelpiece and wall paintings. The hotel has been fully refurbished and bedrooms offer ultra modern bathrooms, our Suite which we upgraded to boasted his and her sinks too. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well presented and tasty. Staff that we had contact with were helpful and importantly cheerful. A big thank you to Jo who was able to sort out our issues he is a real credit to the hotel. We would certainly recommend and return to this gem.

The staff were extremely friendly from the early email exchanges, though arrival, during the stay and on departure. This was an incredibly comfortable hotel with great facilities. The rooms were really clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were outstanding.
