Overton Hotel and Conference Center

The entire staff was over the top! From the minute we walked in the door until the time we left, everything was perfect! I highly recommend whether you are traveling or enjoying a staycation! Pecan Grill, the breakfast buffet, room service, the entire atmosphere was amazing. We truly felt like appreciated guests.

Dirty pillows and blanket in closet Mold in shower curtain Food left over in refrigerator I notified front desk about this problems and they removed the dirty Pillows and blanket. They removed The shower curtain and left one that Was short and all water was coming out of the shower. Food was never removed

Arrived at 9 pm after traveling 18 hours. Went to valet and attendant spent more time telling me I need to park my car as there is a shuttle coming! He seemed frantic and in the time he talked he could have tagged the car and moved it. I asked where should I park but he left. Only 2 cars in drive! Anyway I moved it then no valet to take keys so I locked and checked in. Clerk was nice and took keys went outside and got ticket, found valet! Exhausted I went to the restaurant and like once before no person at hostess desk. Wandered in and no staff walked and finally a server came out and offered a seat. Other waiter spent almost the whole dinner sitting and talking to girls at a table. I ordered then later asked if the serve bread still and then he said oh yes and brought stale nuked buns. No butter knife but used steak knife then realized no bread plate or any plate on table. When he reappeared I asked if I could get a bread plate. He brought one and butter knife. The other server was back to restaurant talking to the 2. Finally the entree and food was excellent. No cell service in restaurant and waiter said you get free Wi- Fi. Took forever to get signed in and it would drop. The bar noise is tremendous so no relative peace eating. Went to room tired furniture etc. the leather chair had lots of lint built up on rear of armrests and details cleaning are so so. In morning went to fix coffee. NO REGULAR ONLY DECAF! Another detail ignored. Checked out after stepping into restaurant for lunch no servers etc after 5 I left to check out. Related my sad story a the desk said sorry and gave me a complaint card and said you have to write it up for anything to change!!!! Of note I had same experiences with restaurant a few months ago but the floor was vacuumed but service poor. It’s just sad how little attention to detail and guest services. Holiday in express or equal does a better job! I learned this will never improve.

We had a graduation to attend at TTU May 11th. Coming from Upstate NY we started our research in Feb. Absolutely amazed at prices for the typical chain we stay at and all the others. Understand special event pricing and such but these prices were upwards of 5 times the norm. We really considered not going, and on top of that we needed transportation to and from airport. With help from a nice young man on the phone at the Lubbock airport I learned Overton Hotel and Conference Center was the only hotel with shuttle. Went on line, prices for the two days covering graduation were of course higher but well below what the "chains were offering". Full disclosure, we did not have any points to use as I am sure many do. So we booked a preferred level room. Upon arrival at the hotel we were blown away. Really really nice! It's an older hotel but very clean and up graded with everything we would need. Oh yes and daily housekeeping! But the staff make it really special- I don't have all the names but each and every person we encountered at the Overton was genuinely gracious and happy we were there! Joel the Bell Captain is about the best ambassador any hotel could ask for! The staff in the hotel restaurant were awesome as well. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet as well and it was just great. There is a coffee bar there as well as a huge bar with outside seating. Our room faced the TTU practice field. So close to everything. You are also in walking distance of University Ave and lots of fun shops. I had read several good reviews and several really bad ones and I knew the minute I checked out I needed to be sure and report our fantastic experience. Oh yes the shuttle starts running at 4am on the dot! Lots of airline personnel staying there as well. Great experience all the way around.

Spent a very nice weekend at the Overton and was happy that I did! I was in town for an industry meeting held at the hotel and it is a great venue. Our group was very comfortable and enjoyed the visit. The staff was professional and the facilities were in great shape. The hotel manager addressed a billing issue (that I caused) and I was very satisfied. I will be pushing for more meetings at this property!

Terrible customer service. We were checked in under the wrong name and paid. Then had to pay AGAIN when put under the correct name. Funds are to be returned in FIVE DAYS. RIDICULOUS. Only had the room clean once the three days we stayed there and they only put new sheets on one bed when we had two in the room. Room was not cleaned properly either.

Melissa waited on us at the bar both days that we were there. She is so upbeat and so friendly. The food and cocktails we the best. We were the for the Journey concert so it was definitely busy. You can tell she loves what she does.!! Hopefully when we go back she is still there. Sincerely, Tina Stasey

It was gross. Super outdated. I could have chosen chain hotel for much cheaper with breakfast. I thought based on pictures, I was staying somewhere nicer and more recent renovated. Bed looked like it was falling apart and sinking. AC super loud. Bathroom sink and tub had other people’s hair and food parts from flossing on counter and mirror. Mirror had lots of toothpaste and soap stains. Bathtub had rust on one side. Ceiling dipping down. Furniture looked super old. Photos of this place was very old and dishonest. The hotel is more like a motel!
