Hotel Victoria

Just when you think everything is perfect the food and customer service here gets better and better. I came down for a two nights stay and took advantage of meeting a couple of friends for a seniors by the sea lunch on Tuesday. Such good value for money! I had things to do for the rest of the day but used the restaurant that evening so I was one of the first to try their new menu. Inspired! The scallop and king prawn gratin starter was to die for. As I was still feeling a bit full from lunch I had the caramelised onion Risotto for main and enjoyed that with a glass of house red, which to my delight was a decent merlot. I went to bed duly satisfied and was soothed to sleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I awoke refreshed to a spectacular sunrise and was spoiled by a perfect eggs Benedict for breakfast. Nobody does eggs Benedict like the hotel Victoria. I had some paperwork that I worked on back in my room with the spectacular sea view then as I was teased by the restaurant menu the night before I had a bar snack for lunch (tasty cod bites with tartare sauce) and a lovely cappuccino to leave room for an evening meal, before a quick stroll around and completion of my paperwork. The peaceful atmosphere was conducive to my productivity. For my last evening I had soup of the day (French onion) which had such a depth of flavour followed by skate in a burre blanc sauce and chose to have it with triple cooked chips. I felt too full for a desert but instead enjoyed a liquor coffee with amaretto. I retired to my room suitably sated. As I so enjoyed the eggs Benedict on my first morning I opted for the same dish from the varied breakfast menu before a relaxed check out and hitting the road home. I did have a bowl of prunes and grapefruit with a glass of orange juice to start and some nice toast and marmalade with coffee afterwards. I cannot wait for a return visit.

Lovely hotel and staff. Great wholesome food. Great sea view from room . Nice bar area. Always a pleasure to catch up with the staff there as I have stayed several times when in the area. Nice breakfast cooked to order and good service from all the staff.

I needed a short break and randomly chose the Victoria. I glad I did, sure the room was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and everything I needed was there. I guess the only problem was the time it took to get hot water to the bath/shower. But the staff were very friendly the food was way above 5 star. Great view from the bedroom and restaurant. I will definitely be back. I throughly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel and staff. We had our wedding reception of 80 people here on the 1st February 2025. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights along with 18 friends. The staff and manger was so helpful could not do enough for us very welcoming and great customer service. We stayed in the bridal suite so comfortable large room with Seaview and private balcony. with free WiFi within the hotel. If you are looking for a hotel for stay or an event or to eat at We highly recommend.

Welcoming staff, clean and comfy room. I had a sea view room and it was spectacular! Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Only 2 minutes walk from the beach. As a lone female traveller safety was important. Felt very safe and again the staff were great.

We were met with a warm welcome, everything was ready for us and we found we had a wonderful view from room 304. It was a spacious, airy room with a comfortable bed, lovely view, and nice seating area to enjoy the view from. The bathroom was also a good size with jacuzzi bath and plenty of hot water. The room was well appointed with plenty of power points, additional bedding, heater, and fan. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There is on-site parking, a comfortable bar, and restaurant overlooking the sea. Breakfast was plentiful, a great selection of anything that could be wished for. The fresh fruit slices are lovely and a good selection. Our only slight niggle is having to order breakfast the night before, but then that guarantees that everything is available. We should like to thank all the staff for being so friendly and efficient and we will definitely stay again.
