Aqua View Motel

I absolutely adored this place. Its not super fancy but its exactly what you need. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and the hosts are just awesome people. Its walking distance to a bar and a couple of restaurants. Will definitely be recommending this to friends and for sure going back.

Was a great stay. Place everything that we needed and anything we did need the folks that worked there made sure that we got it. They were very accommodating, even to the fact that me and my family Ralph for dinner and order that we were having delivered from Walmart came before we were done and not only did they put our items in our room, but they also put the cake that we ordered in the refrigerator. It was right across the street from the beach. Definitely recommend and will stay again!

I would absolutely never recommend the Aqua View to anyone, and these past 5 star reviews in no way reflect our experience. As our 7 year old put it, “who would want to stay there?” We called the hotel this morning to ask about early check in, and the woman told us that the owner had switched us to an upstairs room when we had purposely booked a downstairs room due to my 80 year old mother not being able to do more than a few stairs at a time (there’s no elevator). We told her that that wasn’t a possibility and why, and she said she’d call the owner and let us know if she was able to fix it. We felt that making a change like that warranted a phone call beforehand, but we didn’t receive one. The woman was able to change it back, but when we pulled up, the hotel was NOT what the website represented it to be at all. We knew it was an older hotel and I feel like we had reasonable expectations based on that (clean and not a hazard). There were multiple people outside smoking, and cigarette butts everywhere. The pool did look okay, but it wasn’t as big as it seemed from the pictures. From the pictures on their website, we thought this was beach front, but it was not. I would guess it’s about a football field to the public beach entrance. The floor in our room hadn’t been throughly swept (even a quick run with a Swiffer would‘ve been a huge improvement), there was a large amount of sand and dust anywhere that wasn’t a high traffic area, the security chain was missing on the door, the top of the coffee pot was broken off, the base of the toilet needed a good scrub, and there were smears on the wall. The biggest problem though was the floor boards were deeply cracked to the point that we just kept our shoes on because as soon as my mom took her shoes off, she had a massive splinter break off in her foot. The cracks were also full of sand… some sand is understandable, because we’re at the beach, but whoever cleaned the room didn’t even try to get the sand out of the cracks. We were in the room less than 30 minutes before we booked another hotel room and went to the office to check out. My husband asked the man behind the desk if we’d still be charged since we were checking out due to the room being unacceptable and the man laughed at him and sarcastically said “Of course!” My husband asked to get a receipt and while the man was printing it, I pointed out the splintering floorboards and how the room needed a deep cleaning badly, and the man said the rooms are cleaned daily. When my husband said they sure don’t appear that way, the man behind the counter said “Well, satisfaction is NOT guaranteed.” Our jaws dropped. My husband said he’d be calling his credit card company to dispute the charge, because of the safety issue with the floor and our 7 year old being with us, and the man said, “Maybe I’ll hold your deposit a few extra days then.” (They’re not good about communicating about the deposit either, because we didn’t realize we’d paid one until then.

The king condo was the room we stayed in. It's located in the back, right next to the pool. If you are looking for quiet, it's the wrong room because you can definitely hear the kids playing in the pool (after all, you are about 10 feet from them!.) The room is recently remodeled. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the items are new, it means that the furniture has been purchased by another hotel chain used, but not in horrible condition. The bed was comfortable. The floors are tile and there are drops of paint on it that didn't get cleaned up after they recently the painted walls. Because of it's location, very close to the beach, the floors get gritty with sand quickly and there's no rug to wipe your feet on when you enter. The refrigerator kept the food cold and the ice frozen. The loveseat and chair in the living area also holds the sand. I'd take extra sheets/blankets to use to cover the furniture so you don't end up all sand covered and our pillow cases were dirty when we arrived. I'd take extra towels if you are staying there because the towels are old and extremely thin. Staff was nice and accommodating. (Beware, don't purchase items from the local gas station next to the motel. The prices are astronomical, we paid $70 for a case of water, case of beer, ice and two bags of chips!)

The towels and linen smell very clean and fresh. Rooms are clean and renovated. The shower never got really hot but honestly, we were thrilled otherwise. We saw the bad reviews and got worried but it was a complete repeat when we got there. Beds are comfortable, they have a good place to wash your clothes if you need, you’re very close to the beach and so much more. Very very happy with our stay and we plan to go back

Motel is very outdated and the few attempts to "upgrade" are poorly done. The wood flooring in our room was uneven and it felt like you could fall through the bathroom floor. The bed was horribly worn and uncomfortable. We were "upgraded" to a room with a kitchenette that looked like it had been furnished with appliances and cabinets from a scrap yard. The room was at least fairly clean (minus mysterious couch stain) and I didn't see any bugs. The pool area is nice, except there was only one table with an umbrella and no other shade to be found. We were also woken up by the garbage truck at 4:30 Sunday morning since our upgraded room was right beside the dumpster.

Moldy , smelly rooms, nasty people live in rooms on the bottom floor, Marijana smells coming from rooms and walkways, staff outside smoking, very unprofessional and terrible neighborhood. Mold on bathroom ceilings, nasty mattress, had to wear shoes at all times and had to clean the room myself before taking my luggage inside. The ice machine was the size of mine on my kitchen counter! Had to pay a $60 deposit that was not mentioned at time that I booked. Please do yourself a favor and book elsewhere! The lady of color behind the counter is very rude and unprofessional! Rating of NEGATIVE 10!
