Route Active Hotel

The hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms are spacious with a separate bedroom. Kitchen has few utensils and pans and kettles so basic foods can be cooked. Balconies have two chairs and a table. Be aware that the balcony floor is very slippery when wet. Building D next to the road can be a bit noisy at times, trash truck beeping early in the morning etc. Hotel has a minimarket with mostly sandwiches, chocolate bars, beer and wine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of fruit, bread and cereal but not much meat. Same goes with the dinner. Don't trust Google maps, there's no easy route to Puerto de la Cruz centrum. The area surrounding the hotel is steep hills to every direction. Sidewalks are narrow if they exist at all. Nearest grocery stores are closer to 10 minute walk away. Few restaurants are nearby. There is one hotel next to this one but otherwise the neighbourhood is fully inhabited by locals. We enjoyed our stay a lot though we found out that the only viable way to travel between the hotel and Puerto de la Cruz was taxi.

Nice pool and gym and friendly staff in the reception. Grumpy staff in the dining area which resembles school dining. Location is next to the volcano and a busy road. 10in walk to the town center Toscal which is some shops along a raod. More cloudy and damp air feeling near the volcano so choose this place if you are keen on vicinity to the national park and cucling routes, not for a sea and sand holiday with bars and club beacuase there are none. The se shore sand is black from the valcano.

Clean and great breakfast. I loved the cultural books in the reading area. Front staff were awesome! I was a little worried about a WiFi issue. There were two accounts and one asked for some personal info. I then realized it was the wrong one, but I thought it was shady almost like a malicious wifi access point. I asked the front staff and they explained one of them was their old one and not to worry. Just be careful when setting up your wifi. Thought I’d share that because it caused me some anxiety.

The room was extremely clean and the small kitchen had everything you need, except an electrical outlet. If you want to use the kettle or coffee maker you have to place them on the living room floor because kitchen's only plug is on a awkward place. We knew that there wouldn't be AC on the room, but because bedroom's window opened into a hallway the air in the room was musty and way too hot (even when using a fan provided by the hotel). As a light sleepers we were happy to find out that on the evenings and nights there was hardly any noise coming from outside or nearby rooms. The breakfast was pretty good and could be even better if they served something else besides the instant Nescafe. The location of the hotel is great If you're looking for a peaceful holiday but be prepared to hire a car or use money on a taxi, because everything is a small hike away.

Great friendly service and very clean hotel. Swimming pool with garden well kept but water in the pool was in the beginning of our 2 weeks staying very cold and temperature just close to 20 celcius. Guard in the pool noticed me taking a photo of the daily ph, chlorium and temperature board so water was swimming worthy next morning. Room has issues, balcony door needed much man power for a sliding. Noise insulation is really weak, there was upstairs customers really keen on walking with shoes all night along. Flushing toilet was alike water fall beside your bed. Room outside door lock and door function are both really noisy . Balcony railings were made on water tubes and corners, didn't feel really strong. Breakfast was tasty but it was prepared to VEGAN people, only ham was found in the buffet. Location, in the end of La longuera maybe problematic to families with a strollers and elderly people. You have to be prepared walk a lot and up to down hills. Bus stops to Puerto de la Cruz is 600m away. There is no pool bar , just small shop in the lobby you can buy a drinks. We missed this option. No view to Teide as it was told in ***********. If you stay here, request the highest floor apartment in the B wing. Best position to afternoon sun and silence at the night time.

We actually can’t find anything to complain about here. The room is comfortable, nice, clean and contains everything you need. The surroundings is calm and there is no disturbing noise. In the reception we have been so very welcomed and recieved help with everything we have asked about. Wonderful pool area and breakfeast buffé. Five stars out of five!
