We discovered 2 full-size live bed bugs on or near the bed on our first night. We notified front desk and checked out immediately. We requested front desk person to come and take a look at said bed bugs, but he said it was against policy and he could not leave the desk. (Which he had already been to our room once to loosen the shower head so that it would release water.) Inspector was called by hotel manager the next day. Verdict of inspector: "No bed bugs." Manager refused to comply with any request on our behalf to confirm any refund. Thus we lost a very large sum of money as we had booked 2 rooms for multiple days each, but got to sleep 0 nights because of the legitimate hazard.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There were indeed bed bugs. We asked hotel personnel to witness such. We checked out first night and were assured that the hotel would comply with a refund thru Trip.com for the second room at least, for we had not booked it for occupancy until the following night. We pursued our case with hotel manager. But she denied that there were any bed bugs and refused to cooperate with any refunds whatsoever. We even attempted to meet with her at the hotel after she informed us that no refunds would be issued, but she had left early. I hope this honest review spares others the awful experience we had. Do Not book a room with Golden Sails hotel.
