Great spot for convenience and the basics. Good price to have your own room and bathroom amenities. Will be going back soon!

I have stayed at a lot of budget accommodations in London. This is one i won’t forget. I was worried about noise being a KCL student accommodation. I was not prepared for filth and neglect. First, there was a disgusting baby bottle full of disgusting dark fluid on the desk. Random! Then no toilet paper. No shower curtain either, but somehow toilet paper I thought was below the belt (literally). Light in the bathroom didn’t work. Otherwise I might have seen no toilet paper. The Mattress springs were all broken. The duvet like the carpet was filthy. No glass for water - nothing! Squalor. So no, I do not recommend this place

I stayed for 1 night at the Dover Street Apartments. All I used the staff for was to pick up the keys so I can not really comment on the service I received. The room was small but big enough for my requirements. Very good location only a 10 minute walk to London Bridge. I had an en-suite shower which was impossible to keep to an even temperature as I spent a few moments getting the temperature right only for it to fluctuate between cold and too hot whilst showering. There was a desk and chair in the room and plenty of cupboard space. The bed was too soft for my liking but clean enough. There was a separate shared kitchen down the hall which had all the usual kitchen amenities except the most important one a kettle! I did mention this to reception but as I only spent 1 night I do not know if this was resolved, although there was a tea and coffee making machine in reception which I used to make my tea and porridge in the morning. It could also be used for filling water bottles. I was concerned about it being noisy at night as after all it is student accommodation but it was very quiet even though I was on the ground floor and my window faced the main courtyard area. Over all I would highly recommend Great Dover Street Apartments as it is a cheap place to stay in central London.

Wenn man bereit ist, viele Abstriche zu machen, um alleine günstig nahe der Themse übernachten zu können, ist dies o.k. Es handelt sich um Studenten-Apartments in einer Wohnanlage, die zum King's College gehört. Beim Checkin an der Rezeption, die 24h besetzt ist, erhält man einen Transponder für die Eingänge sowie einen klassichen Zimmerschlüssel. Es wird einem auch ein Postfach angeboten für zentralen Mailservice. Die Zimmer sind sehr spartanisch eingerichtet und auf die Zielgruppe Student/in abgestimmt. Die Wände sind hellhörig, und polternde Türen und quietschende Scharniere sind nicht selten. Die Mischbatterie ist sehr alt, und es kommt entweder sehr heiß oder kalt. Dies spiegelt sich auch in einer "Maintenance List" wider, die man bei Gelegenheit an der Rezeption teilweise offen sehen kann. Trotz alledem kann man hier ruhig ein paar Nächte schlafen. Ein Highlight in der Nachbarschaft ist der gegenüberliegende Roebuck Pub, der auch gutes Essen anbietet. Tipp: Cloud Wifi vom Anbieter Sky gibt es kostenlos nach einer Registrierung - eine Alternative für Personen, kein eduroam nutzen können.
